A last minute jaunt to the coast has been a much needed highlight after a gloomy few months. We love Kernow 💜

I love tofu! You can buy some really yummy pre-marinaded tofu from the supermarkets which is great in curries and stir fries. Go for the firm stuff if you're going to be stirring/moving it around a lot.

Yup, tis true. Males have a spur on their ankles, can be fatal for small animals and super panful for humans. I wrote my first ever uni course work on platypuses and echidnas ☺️

Well I wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer when I was a kid. They were kinda like Pan’s People on the American top of the pops. Damn my perimenopausal knees!

He'd love it round here, we have so many and they fly over our garden looking for stuff to scavenge. For me, seeing owls is the most exciting because we're rarely out and about when they are.

Well done for getting it done Marie. I had to go a couple of years ago and it was not nice, really felt like my chebs were being flattened.

Money isn't enough for them. They don't want to be happy, they want power.

I’ve heard a few people say that 7b has captured the magic of the early seasons so I’ll definitely watch it.

Ah thanks! Had some long slumps before, usually coincides with episodes of depression. Now it’s just cos life has been hectic and my brain hasn’t been able to relax as it flits from thought to thought.
I usually pick short stories and only have 2 left in my current book.
Yes I enjoyed Evelyn ☺️

I haven’t yet watched the second half cos they switched platform AGAIN and I didn’t want to pay another sub. And honestly the twitter fandom toxicity really tainted my love for the show which is sad. But you’ve given me some hope as I know you fell out of love with the show too.

Thanks Emma. I am struggling with concentration and am relying on audiobooks at the moment, but I’m hoping to start it soon ☺️

I remember thinking perhaps I’m not intelligent enough for it because everyone was raving about it and I just thought it was ok.

Nowt to be ashamed of. I was lucky to read several bangers in a short space of time. If you fancy dipping your toes again, you have some Keegan, I’d recommend:
Intimacies - Lucy Caldwell (short stories)
Trespasses - Louise Kennedy
The Rachel Incident - Caroline O’Donoghue
Hagstone - Sinéad Gleeson

I gasped so loudly when I read this as I’ve been wondering lately if they put something in the water, because for me, Irish writers (female in particular) are top tier. None of the ones I’ve read in the last 2 years have disappointed.
STLT is a cracker though, hope you enjoy it ☺️

Is it American Louie? I'll ask them when they get home. I will say that I've noticed that they tend to use American slang and phrases more and look at me like I'm nuts if I use British ones

Ah lovely, I’m glad it’s on my wish list then.
Also yes re. Hardbacks, I too buy them and then don’t read fast enough and could’ve just bought the paperback and saved the money and space. Plus I’ve had too many reading in bed hardback inflicted injuries 😅

Great to hear the paperbook is out as I'm trying not to buy hardbacks and really want to read this.
