Thank you for clarifying this point

Plus developers don't have to find the most optimal solution. However, they should avoid using pessimistic ones.

That's not to say developers should work themselves beyond what was asked, but they should at least do what was asked of them well.

The thing is, if a developer cares about what they do, then it benefits everyone. If a developer is fine shipping code that technically works because they still see their paycheck, it only benefits the suits who don't care about them.

The tl;dr is no, my head canon is they’re started there after recovering from the fall of Dalamud. But also I had this really lengthy backstory in my head for them ^^;

Though if I find myself in a situation where I feel like I can't enjoy something I want to, I start eliminating those distractions as best I can and constantly remind myself "nooooo" when my hands want to alt+tab out of whatever I'm doing.

Unless it's severely hampering your ability to simply live, I like to think of these more as quirks than "something wrong."
It seems more wrong to me to say there's something wrong with someone when "normality" (whatever that means) isn't really attainable in the first place.

How? By going through Windows update posing as a driver. And every time I remove it, it just keeps coming back.
I found a way to suppress it from running, but it's still annoying. At least other companies (that I've used so far) ask you if you want the software and don't insist on it if you say no

My biggest gripe with this is when the manufacturer of a product _insists_ its software be used. I have a bone to pick with Dell because I bought one of their monitors and Dell insists that I use their monitor software that doesn't really do anything.

I have a simple motto which I hold myself to:
"Don't look for reasons to be unhappy"
You'll know when you have a real problem on your hands, and it's much more fun to ask how that problem can be solved using your own brain and your own skills rather than an app or a widget.
That's the fun in life

It’s important to note that Steam hardware surveys only account for the period they took them plus whoever agreed to submit their data. There are occasions where the data doesn’t make sense unless you take this into account

The nerd in me wants to go "can you add a /i at the end to trigger case-insensitivity"

So seeing someone criticize it because it makes "<30FPS games look smooth without being more responsive" doesn't make sense to me anymore, unless it's still <30 FPS without frame gen.

Bethesda has id Tech too, but not sure if they want to license it

Even with the more user friendly side of Linux, it still feels like it was created by developers, for developers.

I thought this was already a thing (or you can tell the HVAC system to draw in outside air) but I guess that was too hopeful to assume.

I've had a similar vibe with Okinawa, as I lived there for a few years in the early 2000s. It's nice that there's money flowing, but it came at the cost of big hotels and shopping centers sticking out like a sore thumb.
