Pritzker invokes his own Jewish background in responding to Trump:
"Stop tearing down the Constitution in the name of my ancestors. Do not claim that your authoritarian power grabs are about anti-semitism. When you destroy social justice, you are disparaging the very foundation of Judaism."

"...saccharin and sucralose (NNSs) and stevia (NS) change the composition of the gut microbiota. ... Further research on the effects of sweeteners on the composition of the human gut microbiome is necessary."

Well, that may be a fascinating up-side to it. Wonder if it plays into why my mother, who has likely consumed her weight in saccharin during her long life, keeps on ticking.
That same antimicrobial action might also be part of why it messes with human gut microbiome?

I used Google lens to try to figure out what the Arabic said. I never saw anything like it. It kept changing the translation.
Try it yourself. Just move the camera a little to the left or right. Completely different translations.

A picture book author presenting her Jewish family's Iraqi history to a gaggle of children in a library in North Hollywood (an L.A. neighborhood) is not propaganda.
It's biography and history, and love.

"And yes, bless the staff of NO HO Library...greeted me with smiles & no worries at all. Best of all the room filled up with an amazing amount of children & adults. And I presented what I love most to present, a reading of Shoham’s Bangle & the story of my own Iraqi bangle gifted by my grandmother."

Jews have been persecuted throughout the Middle-East. It was not many centuries ago, it was in the 20th century.
They were persecuted, attacked, and intentionally impoverished, landing in the only M-E country that would take them: Israel.
Returning to the country of Jewish origin saved her family.

It's a story about how her Iraqi Jewish family was forced out of Iraq, allowed to take only one suitcase each, and forbidden to take any jewelry.
The story is made sweet by sharing how her character's grandmother secreted their bangles with them to safety in Israel.

"Flowers for Algernon" changed how I thought about intelligence.

I would like the video better if it took 12 seconds instead of 8 to cycle through.
It was so fast, I couldn't read enough to know where I left off. Therefore, couldn't read the text no matter how many times I watched it cycle.

I see it a lot.
Question is: Why does it do that?
I've had Al give me false information, and then respond petulantly to me when called on it!
There's more going on here than we yet know.

I loved La Brea Tar Pits when I was a kid! Last time I was there was about 20 years ago. Our kids found tar seeping up in parts of the nearby lawn. Teachable moment - this was not just an ancient site, like ruins of a lost village, but a continually evolving event right in the middle of Los Angeles.

-swap out plastic cutting boards for non-plastic options
-choose loose leaf tea instead of mesh tea bags
-avoid beauty products with microplastic
-use loose dish washing powder or liquid, not pods
-buy clothing and bedding with little or no microfiber content
-wash synthetic fabrics less often

This is the last thing we need, especially for those already struggling with chronic health issues.
What can you do to reduce your microplastics exposure? Experts recommend:
-take food out of its plastic when heating it in the microwave
-switch to glass or stainless steel water bottles

I I don't know why it is only on page 1 of the Amended complaint and not the original, but it is also in the original on page 40.

He's not trying to be a dictator because he believes in something, rather, he imagines he'll live forever, and knows the only way he can avoid being held accountable for his sins, is to stay president.
His body language shows me a man in decline. But the other two are worse, and ready to take over.

He's destroying the DOJ because he *knows* the Russian kompromat would lead to him finally getting prosecuted, found guilty, and punished. That didn't become obvious recently. That was already obvious when he was investigated for 1st impeachment.

I just didn't realize how much trouble our anti-intellectualism could allow in, nor how fast it could happen.
The founders of the US were intellectuals, and if we are to save this country from the present destruction, it will be done by intellectuals who are willing to stand up and take risks.

Yes, women face a bigger anti-intellectualism wall in the U.S. than men do, but that moment shifted my understanding of the problem.
If the underlings of a middle-aged, white, male executive at the Library of Congress felt obliged to tease him for his vocabulary, our country was in trouble.
