Libraries are community centers. Gathering places. Places to learn about resources. They have been since I was a kid. Itâs time to move past the angry white lady spinster thing.
Libraries are more often an amalgamation of bemused queers, moms, and one guy who owns way too many cardigans.

if youâre cis & liberal & allowed sports or bathroom access to become a wedge issue & you went barging into ârapid onset gender dysphoriaâ & âkids rushed into transitionâ & âthere will be mass waves of detransition and regretâ & âirreparable harmâ you should know youâll have blood on your hands.

Itâs a beautiful story! My story is lucky to be nestled up next to it.

The more effort, enthusiasm, and energy you pour into interacting with LLM-powered chatbots... you're having interactions with something that has been carefully cultivated to have the gross shape and outward flourishes of talking to a person, but nobody's there.

I'm all for adverbs until I get to a MS that makes me want to confiscate all of the author's adverbs until they learn to use them properly.

Oh, absolutely! You definitely need both showing and telling. Adverbs are a perfectly cromulent part of speech. Nothing I've posted today is meant to be applied universally. All of these "rules" come with nuance, but sometimes the "yes, but..." needs to be countered with "no, really."

"Don't start your story with weather." Hah, I'll show them! I'm a rule breaker! Imma describe the shit out of this normal sunny day even though it has nothing at all to do with plot or character development or themes. Suggestion: maybe don't? It'll fuck up your pacing & bore your readers. #amediting

I love adverbs! Any advice saying Never Use Adverbs is wrong and stupid. A lot of great all-purpose words are adverbs and you don't even know it. Some prepositions are also adverbs! But also...if you use too many of them, your prose will suffer. It's all about moderation. #amediting #lineedit

Kids are *people*
But the law treats them like property.
They are the largest marginalized group, with the absolute least amount of power.
And a lot of states are criminalizing allowing children to self actualize.
In order to keep kids safe, you have to be willing to stand between them and that.

This is why Irish chili always calls for exactly two hundred and thirty-nine beans.

Which illustrates the difference between a line edit (looking for ways to smooth out and declutter the prose) and a proofread (looking for irrefutable errors).

And I just noticed that should be âIs itâ really important rather than âIt is.â đŤ

A lot of guys seem to miss the point that they are not competing for women against other guys; they are competing against the peace a woman has alone in her own home.

Basically a tabbed search is your friend.
1. Type what you want to know into a search engine with AI turned off.
2. Wikipedia articles are summaries of multiple cited sources. Youâll find them at the bottom of the page. Take note, search for the sources.
