It will be Mr. Meredith's 92nd birthday on the 25th of June. My utmost respect for your fight, sir!

Aside: James Meredith was going to walk more than 200 miles to help people register to vote. He got shot in the process. Others took over his effort. That’s how important it is. Voting is not about what’s in it for you. It’s what’s good for the country.

Side note: This photo of James Meredith lying on the ground after being shot while walking in Hernando, Miss., on June 6, 1966, won the 1967 Pulitzer Prize for Photography. The gunman, James Aubrey Norvell, can be seen in the bushes on the left. Photo by Jack R. Thornell, Associated Press.

Despite several tense moments with law enforcement, the March Against Fear made it to Jackson on June 26, the number of marchers swelling to 15,000 people along the way. Toward the end, Stokely Carmichael first publicly used the words “Black Power” in a speech. /end

When a sniper’s bullet sent Meredith to the hospital, other civil rights leaders continued the march in his honor, with the Deacons for Defense and Justice serving as armed escort. Meredith recovered and rejoined the march on June 25, which had become much larger than he had planned. /3

Meredith had gained notoriety in 1962 when he became the first student to integrate the University of Mississippi. The governor of Mississippi defied a court order to block his entrance, but Meredith ultimately began classes and graduated with a degree in political science. /2

2/…He needs Trump on his side. Might I add, Trump WAS appalling to Zelensky in the Oval Office but I wouldn’t call that presidential building the ‘Ofal’ Office. That’s a step too far. 😉

1/…Believe me, I am in NO way a fan of the man but if anyone can cause Putin discomfort- it would be Trump. He treats Trump like shite but he’s loved Trump being in his corner. For him to come out against Putin, even in a tweet, is going to be extremely worrying for Putin.

He stood up for Ukraine by telling Putin to stop the constant barrage of attacks. Of course I’m not sure if Trump still thinks Putin has any redeeming factors. The longer I look for them- the longer I’m convinced he has zero- nada- zilch.

Love it. I wouldn’t stop and visit this planet if I had a choice. I love Earth but not so much the way humans have been destroying it over the years. 👽👽👽

This terrible maiming of cats has to stop. For the love of all that’s holy- we must stop this from happening. We need to educate people who do this- make them see what a cruel act it is.

Interesting. I look forward to regular surveillance rather than having to have another endoscopy for this condition. 👏👏👏

Russia is upping its assaults on Ukraine- they continued even during the three day prisoner swap. Why isn’t there more of an outcry from US to world leaders. Open their eyes, make them DO SOMETHING to end this war. Putin can have Crimea.. for now but he forfeits the land he’s claimed in Ukraine.
