I think this year I want to work on my speed I used to work on around 50-ish commissions a month and I severely burned myself out at that pace. I'm still recovering 5 years later, but at my current pace even one commission illustration takes a month or two and it's not fair to anyone :(

I’ve seen so many people wondering why these photos look so good/dramatic/cinematic in comparison to now and it’s SHADOWS. Film/tv used to light for depth; to frame the people in shot so yr eye goes to them. Everything is lit flat now for ‘realism’ (& we’re afraid of colour so that’s muted too).
