I run a small B&B and keep bees in a tiny mountain town where the Sierras meet the Cascades. I used to do Army MI stuff a long time ago. He/him/flower-if-you-want-to.

And other random thoughts you have when you're waiting for outpatient surgery and haven't had anything to eat or drink since midnight.

*For a 10" skillet use 3 eggs, 1/2c each flour & milk, plus a teaspoon of sugar, a pinch of salt and fresh ground nutmeg
For a 12" skillet use 4 eggs, 3/4c each flour & milk, and the same tsp sugar, etc.
¡Buen provecho!

Preheat oven & cast iron skillet* to 425°F, beat all ingredients except butter together, melt half a stick of butter in skillet and pour in the batter, bake for 10 minutes then turn oven down to 300°F and bake another 15 minutes. Serve immediately with powdered sugar and lemon.

I got the thing all the way baked, plated and dusted before I realized. Now I have to put on pants, and when I get back it will be cold. Guess I'll have to make another one. 😋

Point being, this is not best practices for talking about sports to strangers.

Somebody saw me wearing a [English soccer club] jersey in the grocery store & decided to tell me, in a very polite tone, that they saw the game and [my team] sucks. First of all, how does a person in this tiny logging town in the mountains know what [soccer team] is, and second how dare you??

I think they nest right under my bedroom, which means they rarely spray on my property, but when they do it's THICK.

How old is the person who called it a "Volkswagen minivan?" Does knowing the proper name make me old??

I'm against it for a lot of reasons, but foremost is that we are better than murderers. We can afford to keep them alive. If we don't then we aren't any better.
I say foremost because the above should keep us from ever having to discuss that a condemned person might actually be innocent.

Also I got a job in a kitchen and they don't make a Gilgamesh-sized beard net, so it was going to have to get shortened anyway. It's been fun walking around town unrecognized. A dude who thinks my wife & I are the devil tried to ping me with his gaydar & I struggled to not bust out laughing.

It reached the end of its contract and decided not to renew. I wished it the best.

Is it being a ripped balding middle aged man who drives a fast European car, keeps bees and kicks ass on the side? Because that also happens to be my formula for like my life or whatever.

I have this new thing where my morning meds make me nauseous if I take them on an empty stomach so I *have to* eat breakfast and it's a real PITA. Who has time for that??

Turns out living in a world where people believe stuff upon insufficient evidence all the time kind of sucks

Thank you Dr. Minnis. We had been estranged for many years, so it's sad that we didn't get to say goodbye, but I feel strangely relieved now there's a good reason for not spending Mother's Day with her. It felt good making the other moms smile yesterday. 💕

It's a good idea to feed pets in the crate (with the door removed if necessary) to get them used to it and make this easier, but I never remember to do it until it's time to go to the vet.
