I too am Name In The Game and have seen my dead pawn remembered in an art piece in the wild. But I have also taken to writing fic novels of my past colonies, ensuring they are published for the internet to see my sins in the name of Randy Random!

Dwarf Fortress is much more about the grand saga, while Rimworld tells, smaller, more personal tales.
I never play it as colony management, I just tell the Pawns what to do and see the consequences.

Yeah, the limited power of the Switch 1 was always tested by CrossCode.
It runs fine until later in the game, when there's lots going on, and you get slowdowns as a result.
The S2 is fine though, the performance is equal to the Steamdeck.

Can confirm the performance is flawless, if you decide to upgrade to a S2 at some point, that is another option.

When the writing bug strikes, it's because I've made a colony where the faith and rules create the atmosphere. Then I log the intereactions and colony friendships, building into it and adding the cohesive narrative.
I also RP as the leader regarding expansion, making choices as the pawns would.

I can confirm it is as solid on S2 as it is on Steamdeck / PC, no frame drops or slowdown when lots is going on now.
