Spent my career fighting to diversify the workforce in various universities. Angry my efforts have been wiped out by the E-GOD. Will fight for Democracy! YA2UPEH

Agreed. I felt the same way when Molly Ivans passed away after battling breast cancer.

I thought the conservative just-us-is were Originalists. Next up will be anyone who appears to be from the Middle East.

As a retired HR professional, I would never have hired him. He’s a convicted felon, a sexual predator, and it’s unlikely he would have passed a drug screening. Not to ignore his numerous bankruptcies, which would be an automatic pass if his position had access to money.

He may have early dementia, but if you use Robert Hare’s Psychopathic Check List-Revised (PCL-R) he has fit Hare’s definition of a psychopath for decades.

Great to see a talented carpenter. My dad was a master and it was simply his hobby.
He referred to sloppy woodworkers as “sledge hammer carpenters.” LOL

I was able to drive from the UP of Michigan to Toledo, Ohio and back without a cell phone. Did it for years w/o incident.

Thank you! My guy was just diagnosed with a Mast cell tumor that would require his R front leg be amputated. I have chosen not to do the surgery, chemo, or radiation allowing him to live out his current life of 10.5 years having fun with his pals. Hard decision but I think it’s the correct one.

I think Hare and Babiak’s book , “Snakes in Suits” addresses these things. Also Hare’s book, “Without Conscience.”

Dr. Hervey Cleckley wrote the first major book on psychopathy in 1941, “The Mask of Sanity.” Worth a read.

Correct: The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (I-9) was designed to hold employers responsible. I know of no employer who has ever been audited since the inception of the I-9 program . . . 38 years since it went into effect.

My late dad built us a child-size workbench with a jig saw and a small vise. It kept us from raiding his workshop.

I worked at MSU,Mankato and left after accepting a position at WMU. Was a Wildcat for 16 years and thankfully was there when Northern won the NCAA Championship beating Boston.

My 10-yr-old Golden was just diagnosed with
a Mast cell cancerous tumor. It’s large and is located on the elbow of his right leg. One of the surgical options may be amputating that leg so as to get clear margins. I was freaked out at the thought. Jon’s story gives me some comfort. TX Jon Stewart!

I remember when P&G (particularly their paper product lines) never suffered during economic downturns. This is a bad sign.

I was involved in a court case years back with my ex. Long story. I had received the police report from the city that employed my ex. Two years later it dawned on me to FOIA the county’s report of the case from Central Dispatch. It provided extensive details omitted by my ex’s employer’s Report. 💥

I know a woman who earns approx $48K/year. Her employer’s premium share for a single person plan is $900/mo.

I began receiving health benefits after 90 days when I worked for $tarbux. My pay was low and I worked 30 hours/week. Shortly thereafter, my state contacted me to inform me I qualified for Medicaid because the premium share reduced my income enough to make me eligible for the program.

My late mom who would be 105 this year said this in the 1970’s. My late dad worked at a shipyard before WWII and at a huge aluminum manufacturing company for 43 years after WWII. Both no longer exist. Private equity destroyed them.

I think you could FOIA the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department and request the Central Dispatch report from this incident.
Then again, the County may not operate like mine in Michigan.

Years back I was bragging to my friend that I’d aced a class w/o having studied the textbook. Her mom overheard our convo and said, “What you don’t realize it that this is your loss. You didn’t really learn the material.” Her insight stuck w/me for life.

What is the title of your econ 101 textbook? I would like to read it as the only “C” I received in my BS and MPA was that darn class. That was 45 years ago and I still struggle to grasp the basics. 🤪

My retirement income is a bit more, yet I just returned to work at 71. My rent increased $80.00/mo. so I now pay over $1,200/mo for a small one bedroom. It’s nuts!

Correct. And sadly, junk food has far more calories than carrots, salads, avocados, apples, etc., which is why people on SNAP often purchase frozen meals, pizza, etc.

I agree with Eric Holder. You and retired MSP Commander Robert “Bronco” Lesneski were the only state actors in Michigan who made an effort to assist me after my constitutional rights were blatantly violated by the City of Plainwell.
