there's nothing wrong with the treats, but you gotta make sure they're worth what you spend on them - something like pizza or a calzone is difficult enough to make at home to be worth it, but 99% of restaurant food is not difficult at all cookies are always there and VERY simple to make

no, not even as a "little treat" you want a little treat? buy 30$ worth of GOOD ingredients and make yourself a sandwich at home that would make Tony Soprano apoplectic with envy and then have enough left over to do it 3-4 more times that week stop paying for subpar products you can't afford

In the actual video the Ninja Theory guy underlines the importance of human creativity but says the AI will allow teams to do 'more, faster'. You know what will actually improve the productivity of a team? A living wage and job security.

It's true that some people just complain because they don't like it, but for me it affects my eye focusing and that leads to the headache. It's also why I don't use anti-aliasing - the fuzziness triggers the same thing.

I'm extremely pro-having-a-menu-option. I know that there's an artistic vision, but some people (like me!) get splitting headaches when we have to look at film grain. I would love people to be able to see the game as intended - but I also would like to be able to play it myself!

and people wonder why indie games have an "auteur" problem, where so many developers make stuff solo. I'm legitimately AFRAID of hiring people because I don't know if I can afford to pay them, im AFRAID of asking to collab because i want my friends to be compensated and I cant compensate them

in this case it's pretty clear-cut - hiring devs in NA is expensive. Hiring devs in China, where NetEase is based, is very cheap. You spend the money you need to get a top-shelf team to make your game, then you fire them all and hand the game over to a much cheaper team to milk the cash out of it.

That's what I'm using too, but imagine a 0/0/90 exit getting matched with a 0/90/0 exit since they're in the same exit list - horizontal exits are on the xy-plane, vertical exits are on the xz/yz plane, rotate the newly spawned room to match the opposite rotation of the origin exit... room sideways.

I'm talking about making rooms with +/- Z-axis entrances/exits, making multi-floor rooms is fundamentally the same as single-floor rooms if your exit-to-exit translation compensates for Z-offset. That said I'm also looking into a weighted room library, I need to finish the video series first.

It's insane to me that ANY studio is still demanding hybrid/full RTO in LA. Blind Squirrel is trying to hire for 3+ in-office days in Irvine... at <100K a year!

It's funny that I was also watching that one, and, like you, I just cracked the secret to multi-exit on both origin and new rooms. Did you figure out vertical exit-matching on your generator? I was trying it on mine and couldn't think of a way to do it without extra markup on the exits...

I gotta know, what are you using to generate the dungeon?
