I may still be catching up to you, sorry if I'm rehashing old ground. I'm looking on archive.org, I found MegaZone Magazine (apparently from Australia, not sure if they're the same as MEGA) that used d-pad in their June 1990 issue. Another early reference for Sega systems archive.org/details/mega...

You did a great job on this! I was hoping to see your name on it. After your Rivals 2 interview you did before figured you'd have cool stuff to say on this The end especially resonated with me. One of the cruel things about live service to me is seeing the game you like change into a game you don't

God damn this one got me good, I was laughing all the way through. Loved the entries for Paperboy, Batman & Robin, and Harvest Moon. The double whammy of entries 90 and 89 as well were incredible.

Duke Nukem 3D, I used to speedrun it.

This Thing Rules maybe? Brian Altano and Max Scoville (old Destructoid, Gamespy, Comedy Button, current IGN people) just discuss different things that they think are cool. Mcdonalds Land, Alien, slime, gummy candies, halloween costumes, and a lot more.

Loved your work at Gamespot! I miss the old regular Hotspot crew. You, Brendan, and Tom were incredible together. Your writing was top notch. I'm glad you look back at it as a good time in life.

Any chance you played a flash game or something that had it? I've never heard of a spider bonus level.

Nice man! Congrats, glad you were able to finally catch a win live.

That last line is really really good, loved the piece a lot.

YES! North American Adonis was incredible. So is the new album he just did.

LOL that wordplay is perfect for it! I love that. Yeah it's one of the few hiphop themed games that really resonated with me. I know people like Def Jam Fight For New York a lot, but Getting Up is my go to.

A lot of cool picks in that shot. Getting Up was rad, doing the graffiti pieces definitely got tedious towards the end for me, but I remember liking the game a lot.

That dude looks sick!

Great pick! I couldn't say why but I feel like Shovel Knight got forgotten for some reason, the game rules and felt really important for like three years and I rarely see it talked about now.

Can't wait for my copy of the book to come in, glad to hear you had a part of it. Much love!

Always love seeing your writing, definitely on SkitchingTheElephant but it was great seeing you on PaletteSwap as well.

Incredible list. Also always great to see writing from Mark and Giovanni, I love that they had a part. Your words on I Am Your Beast finally got me to buy it. Been on the fence with it for a while now.

Good morning, your podcast episode with Dinopillow was dope.

Great pick! I'm busy for the beta they're doing right now. But if you want to play VF5 PC when it releases, or definitely VF6 I'll be trying both for sure.

Yeah I really liked this year's show. Obviously always like more room for awards to shine. But dev speeches were great, very cool announcements, and I really liked the diverse set of winners. This felt a lot like the most "celebration of games and devs" so far.

I'm in, I liked being drunk as Jamie, time to be drunk as Shun again.

The general tech arms race sucks though. I miss playing on jank old TVs and standard out of box controllers. This is for me to get to 144hz, meanwhile there's now 480hz monitors.

This piece is awesome, I don't follow Pokemon anymore and would have assumed satire. Just makes it so much better.

I love Christmas and even I'm ready to go at war with September Christmas people.
