Just voted, and was a little sad there was a pen waiting for me behind the little cardboard voting shield. Was excited to trust that elections Canada wasn’t secretly waiting to erase and reassign my vote.

It’s April 25th!

ICYMI: Canada's tackled the issue of foreign ownership before. Despite our #ElbowsUp spirit, will the next federal government tackle it now, as parties scramble to attract investment? Let's make sure they do. Here's why. Here's how. www.thestar.com/business/our...

I've had a surprising number of conversations with fellow Canadians about this show pre-Netflix distribution, but didn't really catch much coverage in the media. I wonder if all the Canadian channels were waiting for it to hit Netflix to run their reviews and interviews etc? (Or did I just miss it?)

Pharma giants push Trump insiders to target Canadian drug pricing. A vial of insulin costs far, far more in the U.S. than in Canada, but that could change, by @nicktsergas.ca canadahealthwatch.ca/newsletter/2... via @canadahealthwatch.bsky.social

I'm concerned that the NDP, and every party in Canada, will conclude that the Confidence and Supply Agreement was a strategic mistake never to be repeated. A shame because it was absolutely the right thing to do and got important policies through the door. #cdnpoli @ndp.ca

Finished War on Gaza this morning, a short graphic essay by Joe Sacco. Feeling heartbroken and complicit. Weirdly both a historical record of Joe Biden’s role in, and real-time journalism of this ongoing tragedy. @fantagraphics.bsky.social

This was a thin thread to hang hope from, but still disappointing.

Oh I so wanted this to happen!

30 minutes early and already a good line…

This is so close to my immediate lived experience today that it's spooky.

Did this too. What the hell right? It's true.

This, and the star now also following up on insider sources that said the CPC discussed trying to communicate with the Vance and Trump team to distance themselves from Poilievre: (gift link) www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

Elbows up, Canada.

Also, it hosts @dougwrightawards.bsky.social every year, which makes it both odder and cooler.

Heading into this election: we know we have to spend more but nobody wants to raise taxes. Because you asked, I wrote a column on how we faced that moment before in Canada and how we could do it again. www.thestar.com/business/vic... #cdnecon

Here is my latest on the threats facing travellers going into the United States. This is no longer a nation under the rule of law. The United States has been taken over by political ideology abusing power to carry out political vendettas. This is fascism. charlieangus.substack.com/p/my-warning...

@mark-carney.bsky.social, @armineyalnizyan.bsky.social 's idea of Victory Bonds sounds great. Is this something the Liberals would look at? www.thestar.com/business/vic...

I decided to start a #thread 🧵 of stories about legal residents and tourists being (illegally) arrested, detained and/or deported by the Trump regime. I'll only post stories from serious sources, as rumors and conspiracies are really not needed in this authoritarian moment.
