Also if the speculation about spiral stairs is true and I'm forced to get this pack at some point to get spiral stairs in my game I'm going to scream.

Or conversely, they're actually super generously bowing out to increase the odds for the other entrants 🀣
comment in response to post
It's wild to be going on about it not being worth entering because of the odds as if there is a significant cost to entry?? They wasted more energy whining in the comments than the follow+like+repost+comment would have taken.

And of course that led to yet another thing... #ts4 #showusyourmalesims

Happy to help! It's such a convoluted process, it's not surprising more people don't know about it. I had to take 15 minutes searching for the setting before I was confident enough to share something πŸ˜…

I had to use this back when visitors started using my sims' grills to make herbal remedies all the time and it was instant relief once I figured that setting out.

If the end result is that other pranks increase to the same frequency, the nuclear option is to turn off mischief autonomy altogether, which you can do through the MCCC menu on a computer. MC Tuner>Change interaction autonomy>Autonomous mischief>Disabled
comment in response to post
If you use MCCC, click on a sim, go into MCCC>MC Tuner>Enable autonomy scan. Then click a toilet>autonomy scan>[prank toilet] and go back to disable the autonomy scan. This should turn off autonomous toilet pranking.

I can only half-commit to one-off saves for so long πŸ˜”

I get that it's a really complex issue requiring a lot of digging and testing to solve but having the only communication be a vague "We're working on it" makes me wonder if they're having any success whatsoever trying to wrangle one of the worst bugs this game has ever seen.

I got distracted by a build that I, of course, started over like 5 times as I hemmed and hawed over which side the town house pieces should be on (I'm still trying to decide how many stories there should be... I'm really liking the idea of a third floor)🫠 #thesims4 #showusyourbuilds

Funnily enough, the thing that might finally pull me back in is @simmireen.bsky.social's plumbob poses πŸ˜… Who am I to turn down the opportunity to see a naked muscle-bound man in a pin-up pose!

On the other hand, the weather was beautiful, I had a lovely chat with a good friend, and I got good exercise... sore feet are a fair price to pay, I guess

Oh this is absolutely gorgeous!

Maybe the point of this is that I need to look into mods (lord help me, who has the time to mod multiple sims games lmaoooo)

Sure there are fewer activities (locked in waaaaayyyy more DLCs) and less intricate animations in TS3 and TS4 but it's way easier to impart a personality on a sim with traits and preferences. Also romance sims want to have casual hookups but woohoo requires a lifetime relationship of 75???
comment in response to post
One thing I will say... There are a lot more things to do in TS2 but I'm finding it harder to have sims feel distinct from each other. Every romance aspiration sim wants to woohoo a bunch of people and rolls fears for being married. Not tripping into Daniel or Don's storylines is tough.

Then she fell asleep standing up on her way to grab leftovers from the fridge and when I woke her up she immediately died of hunger. Oops. Learning the hard way that pregnant sims being immune to death was a TS3 invention πŸ˜…

But I had a lot of fun, that game does not pull its punches as much as TS4 does. My pregnant sim was simultaneously in the red for hunger and sleep after I forgot about her while she was reading and the game didn't make her stop when she got hungry enough.

Oh definitely, I think if it does end up being the next pack that people are going to be saying that it feels like they split the pack in half, and I don't think that they'd be wrong

New instruments would have been HUGE for fleshing out the "hobbies." I legit think that they didn't add them because they're going to be coming in the next content season and it would dilute the bands pack to have new instruments in back to back releases.

My kingdom for an edit option πŸ˜” I *meant* to say "nothing I love more AFTER a long day at work"
comment in response to post
Idealist and Shady seem like nice upgrades to the Good and Evil traits that give a little more space and nuance for storytelling than the super prescriptive BG options.

The electric guitar, the instrument painting, and the saxophone display are giving me delusions of the next EP being bands πŸ€ͺ

Nothing I love more than a long day at work than unwinding by... tattooing??? I'm surprised they're trying to pass it off as a hobby over the candy-making stuff. Even if it's far less fleshed-out, it's at least something that could feasibly be done in your free time for fun... y'know, like a hobby
comment in response to post
I want ballet, martial arts, more instruments, drawing, sewing, language learning, origami, pool, crosswords, model building, golf. And instead we get to convince ourselves that "tattooing" is a hobby.

I think the pack looks great and the gameplay is fun, and I'm certainly not the first person to say this, but wow they don't like adding a skill to the game unless your sim can turn it into a sidehustle
comment in response to post
I'm excited, especially by multipurpose lots, but I'm definitely of the opinion that it would be better advertised as side-hustles than hobbies

β€œThey really liked Windenburg, so let's give it to them again but with half the lots!”
