The fact that this is even a discussion and folks arguing or defending spending a crazy amounts of money of “luxury” items is absurd. People go through great lengths to feel important and rich and it’s stupid. Companies have been able to capitalize on people’s ignorance and arrogance.

I think that is the core issue. Folks do not know how to socialize or too introverted to socialize and it can be hard to engage in civil discourse truthfully and respectfully. I am here to learn and hear others out but not debate why I’m wrong or right.

How you gonna say that it’s not true when I literally just read a report stating that GenX is being aged out of the job market and so many areas of society. I am all for dialogue but not gonna engage from a dishonest or delusional stand point. It’s true and I stand on that.

Cam recorders definitely was big back in the day and there is a reason why footage of Freaknik exist. I recall my aunt saying remember your dignity, hold space for the things you want to remain private by not doing or sharing them in public but never shame yourself or your family.

And life experiences has nothing to do with taking offense to be old. One day you will understand that society writes people off after a certain age. As if we no longer have value because we old and young people reinforce that by insulting older people by reminding them of that.

The interviewer definitely came across as wanting to elevate the conversation and part of me believes the young lady came to engage and insult. It’s just does nothing for relations between people, young and old.

She was not able to handle the conversation with the maturity of an adult, but she decided that she was going to engage matching energy for energy, not realizing that there is a reason why people treat the younger generation the way that they do.
