The Wicked + The Divine Compendium is out soon (28 May in comic book stores, 10 June in bookstores). Almost 1500 pages of comic, collecting the whole story! That's a lot of comic.

Hey, science fiction writers. A request to make. Normally it's unethical to discuss a story we didn't buy. But years later, there's a "one that got away" I still think about, and I REALLY want to know who wrote it. Did YOU write about space snails taking over the anglican church? (Read on...)

someone help me budget my session prep my players are dying: - combat encounter: 20 words - antagonist monologue: 500 words - descriptions of hot NPCs: 11,274 words - points of intrigue: 2 bullet points - potential twists: 224 words

There's something a little adorable about the naivete of people thinking that fandom is merely a modern concept. As if in ye olden times (whether that's 20 years ago, 200 or 2000) that people couldn't be obsessed with something. The lack of critical thinking is also simultaneously distressing.

no matter what I do at work today, at least no one will think I just killed the Pope

A reasonable reaction to meeting JD Vance, tbh

Submit to our lit mag, we're open for the first time in forever, we pay $150 for Art that references Taco Bell. We're more prestigious than the Paris Review which no one has even heard of.

Big day for fans of Conclave (2024)

I loved Parasite Eve. I probably still have the walkthrough guide I bought for it in 1998 lol

“Fuck your single-sex spaces and fuck your Supreme Court. If I see you calling the police on a trans person in a public restroom I will personally flush your phone down the bog whilst pretending it’s Wes Streeting’s head.”

For @vanityfair.com, I wrote about Meta's defense of training its AI on millions of pirated books, including: they didn't read the pirated copies, it would be annoying to license them, and they don't think the books are individually worth anything to them, anyway. www.vanityfair.com/news/story/m...

MAGNETO WAS RIGHT

WTF Real mad to see Sherice Davids name on this list.

This special is so good.

KC folks. I have two tickets to Labyrinth in Concert tonight (4/15) in Lawrence, yours for free if you want them. #kansascity

I just finished For Whom the Belle Tolls by Jaysea Lynn and it's a 5 star for me. What seems like a silly idea based off her long running (600+ episode) tiktok series, has been turning into an absolutely lovely and funny novel that takes place in the afterlife.

Kansas City or Lawrence people - does anyone have interest in going to the Labyrinth in Concert concert tomorrow evening at Liberty Hall? I have two tickets I won't be using.

Saw "The importance of being Earnest" (theimportanceofbeingearnest.ntlive.com/synopsis/) with @singedsun.bsky.social and it was the gayest, horniest thing I've seen so far this year.

Monsieur Francois, Frank, is settling in very nicely at my dad's. He's such a good calm boy. And he's getting so big!

This version of The Importance of Being Earnest was such a fun show. So gay, so fun.

People will always say they’re your friend and they support you no matter what but then they’ll say some toxic shit to you like “you have to let go of the cursed amulet, it’s changing who you are” and “don’t let its power corrupt you” all because they want the amulet for themselves

Assuming you're not intentionally a transphobe, please just ditch Harry Potter. There's plenty of much, MUCH better-written fantasy made by authors who aren't absolute shit. And if you ARE intentionally a transphobe, kindly either fuck off or educate yourself, whichever you're capable of.

New Mars Volta!!

OMG what?! In 2025?

‪As @camestrosf.bsky.social‬ stated in a recent post, it appears some people on the far right are trying to slate the Locus Award, similar to what happened to the Hugos over a decade ago. Anybody can vote in the awards, so consider doing so before the April 15 deadline. 1/2 poll.voting.locusmag.com

It’s official: Stunt performers are getting their own Oscar, starting with 2028 show. Very hard faught win for stunt community and will add more blockbusters to the telecast…

Well you could never tell to look at her.

When you work for an investment firm, what kind of trading you can do on your own is extremely regulated. That goes for immediate family as well. All trading has to be approved and has a timed barrier (30ish days depending on the type of trade) on it so you can't do this kind of shit.

Bring back proper games journalism.

Don't worry folks. True believers know the skyrocketing prices are only temporary because it's all part of making things better in the long term for the greater good. They're totally good with what's happening. /Real things people are saying in the comments in our next door community right now
