No worries, it’s a nice concept regardless!

No shame in experimenting with two things you like. I see where you’re coming from, one Sonic fan to another!

God I hope I didn’t screw up the way this post shows up through the tags I included. I’m new here okay!?

I might be anxious, but no force in this universe we live in, will prevent me from being the person I want to be. And today, I want to be someone who yaps his heart away, about a game that touched his heart! I sincerely with you, a great day or night. #slaytheprincess #deathbattle #indiecross

And to anyone else who’s read this tangent, thank you for your time. Even as I’m typing this, I feel a bit of anxiety on posting this. But the message I’ve learnt through it all, is to look at all of your fears, and flip them off!

If by some chance Black Tabby, or anyone else involved with the game is reading this incredibly long post. I just want to thank you. You’ve made me feel accepted and proud, in a way nothing else ever has. Live proudly, knowing that you made something incredible. That can grip the hearts of many.

There’s absolutely no shame in changing a new leaf, to be a different and better person, for your own sake. So all of these factors, is why Slay the Princess made my birthday, and is now my favourite game I’ve ever played.

And last but not least. I was actually pretty upset with myself for not having this ending as my very first one, I felt like I was betraying myself. However, I ended up accepting it. Sometimes, in life, we make choices we don’t necessarily want to make, I know that well.

Even if I hear a conversation I am super invested in, I can’t bring myself to join in and have a nice talk. That fear has stopped me from talking to so many people. This ending really reassured me, that even if the entire world is against you, the best thing to do is to be yourself.

It felt like I was looking at a mirror, isn’t that fitting? This search for freedom is incredibly important to me, as I have quite a case of anxiety. I can talk to people well enough, when I’m actually talking. But the initial act of reaching out to talk is incredibly difficult for me.

And that want for freedom, is ultimately why this ending, and this game mean so much to me, even if I’ve had it for less than a week. I wanted a day all to myself, to be free and be the person I want to be. In doing that, I was able to guide two victims to their own freedom, where they’re together

Doesn’t mean I was completely alone. Just because I want a day to myself, doesn’t mean I want to shut everyone else I care about either. But that’s besides the point. I played Slay the Princess, since what better way to enjoy a day, than to get back into a game I throughly enjoyed the first time!

My birthday was right in the middle of this project, so when I knew it was coming up, I already knew what I wanted. I just wanted a birthday where I could be myself, nobody telling me what to do, without any fancy parties or presents either, I just wanted to enjoy the day my own way.

And to top it off, we exchanged an “I love you” and left. I was like a fountain at that point. So that’s the end of my second play-through, but the question still stands, how does this relate to my birthday? Well, I’m in the middle of a major project for my college, so it’s been in my mind a lot.

Let me tell you, the second I chose to hold her hand, and the music started playing, I was immediately in the waterworks. The Princess leading me to the cabin door, and telling me that things will be okay as long as I’m there, didn’t exactly help my eyes either!

The discussion we had, on how we’ve had our ups and downs, but we’re ultimately thankful for every single experience was very powerful. And then came the choice to leave with her, to explore the unknown. But I could also hold her hand as we departed.

Throughout the two play-throughs, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the Princess and I were victims. We had roles to perform, for the sake of progress and change, but we didn’t choose those roles, did we? So I met the Princess one last time. I went in unarmed, to just talk.

I was pretty happy with this ending, but I wanted to see new pathways, new endings. So once again, the cycle continued on the very next day. My birthday. I tried new things, with some choices feeling great, whilst others made me feel like a terrible person. But then I reached the end again.

As soon as I bought it, I jumped right into it, and I was hooked! I loved how everything was shaped by your choices, much more so than any other game I’m familiar with. A lot of the routes really struck me, however, I ended up finishing the game, accepting the Shifting Mound.

I watched the cast, and everything I heard about The Princess really interested me. How she changed forms based on choices, and what her true form was, it hooked me. Out of complete curiosity, I bought the game a couple days later. By sheer coincidence, it was exactly one day before my birthday.

Before I played it, I heard about the game through name only. Knew nothing else of it. However, I’m a HUGE fan of Deathbattle, and Indie Cross. Seeing DeathBattle was doing a cast commemorating indie games, via Flowey vs The Princess, I was IMMEDIATELY in, because I also love Undertale!

I don’t necessarily think Vecna’s low pick-rate is because of him being bad, moreso that he’s got a less approachable, and more niche playstyle. I also think Dracula is pretty popular, as I see them fairly frequently. I also think they’re both very fun, but I understand if it’s not everyone’s thing

Vecna and Dracula were bad?

As a Xeno main, I have to disagree. It’s unbelievably difficult to dodge. If you do manage to dodge it, it’s because you predicted it, or the Xeno just timed it wrong

I remember being extremely underwhelmed the first time I saw it, and that hasn’t changed all these years later. Track is good though

It’s entertaining but my goodness do some shots linger for far too long, also I really wish they managed to use the Panic Bubble more

Better than the newer version imo. I prefer how the focus was on their iconic power ups, rather than focusing on the most powerful ones. It definitely holds a special place in my heart, as the very first Deathbattle episode I watched

No I 100% agree. At least Batgirl vs Spider Gwen had a vision put into it, with moments that make me go “that’s pretty cool”. The Boys Battle Royale feels very soulless and generic in comparison, which I guess is fitting since it’s a sponsored episode. Raiden vs Excalibur was the right way to do it

Believe it or not, tone isn’t conveyed very well on the internet. You only think from your own perspective, so I pity anyone who has to deal someone so self-centred, such as yourself.

I bet if I agreed with you initially, you’d be celebrating with me anyways. Of course your statement becomes a “joke” when people disagree with it. Good riddance.

There’s being honest, and then there’s being obnoxiously rude for little reason. Have a little respect for fellow people.

Not even 24 hours and there’s already comments like this. Give it some time.

Happy to see some positivity! We can only hope that they make it to the game, but I like to think it’s a matter of when, not if
