The art-loving community turned out in style to celebrate the opening of Harmony Hammond’s new exhibition, FRINGE, and Dakota Mace’s DAHODIYINII–SACRED PLACES. The party was followed by engaging Artist Talks on Saturday with insights from co-speakers Jarrett Earnest and Porfirio Gutierrez.

Participants will join Duke as he processes photos using a developer made from local pine needles sourced from New Mexico sites devastated by wildfires. Very limited space for this intimate, hands-on workshop. 10 people per session, four sessions total, March 14 and 15. #SITESANTAFE #TristanDuke

The exhibition will highlight the artist’s distinct use of geometric design and saturated color alongside references to 19th/20th c. foundational American documents and modern music, critiquing systemic injustices and imagining a more equitable future. Opening May 10. Learn more at → thebroad.org

Gibson made history as the first Indigenous artist to represent the U.S. with a solo exhibition. The Broad’s adapted presentation includes over thirty of the artist’s multidimensional work joyously affirming the artist’s radically inclusive vision.

Together they will discuss the inspiration behind her extraordinary multimedia exhibition. With insights from his own research into dyeing techniques, Gutierrez will examine with Mace the intersections of their diverse practices. #SITESANTAFE #DakotaMace #PorfirioGutierrez

The initiative was led by SITE SANTA FE Board Member Henry R. Muñoz III. With our Director Louis Grachos, Tony Bechara of the Estate of Carmen Herrera, Lisson Gallery, and White House Curator Donna Hayashi Smith, Dia Feriado has now assumed its rightful place in American history in the White House.

This is a landmark acquisition, as it is the first ever artwork by a Latin American artist represented in the historic collection. Dia Feriado was most recently exhibited at SITE SANTA FE in Carmen Herrera’s 2024 solo exhibition. Now that painting is on display in the East Wing of the White House!
