Just for context, this is still pretty tame by Los Angeles standards (both crowd size and the number of cops).
LA sees much larger crowds with more unrest and a lot more police brutality when the Dodgers or Lakers win.
But masked ICE/DHS agents kidnapping dozens of people is very unusual.

This is a fantastic and depressing piece. I’m a native St. Louisan and this is a great history of the city and ties together pieces that I was unaware of. It also highlights many reasons why I left 25 years ago, but it’s always a part of me. Thank you for your excellent work.
