I think this is pretty indicative of the average voter these days and it's very scary to me. Nobody can change their mind, it's impossible.

Sadly the guy is right. The judicial branch has no enforcement mechanism. This is why Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren were able to get away with the trail of tears. It just means this president has no common decency.

Unless NATO membership is offered he'd be a fool to give up anything. Peace is not worth it if the country has no protection from future invasion.

Do they really think they can win the next election like this?

God I hope they managed to get a NATO timeline in Saudi Arabia. That's the only thing that would be worth giving up territory.

This means they're finally getting the hint that people are disgusted by stories of veterans and highly qualified people being canned for no good reason while Elon happily dances around like a moron. It's been bad PR from day one.

ACB broke rank on this one, good for her, and the Roberts coin flip worked in our favor. Had this turned out the opposite, a president would have been given defacto power over all funding passed by Congress. This is unbelievably huge.

They'll use this to justify everything by the way.

People are tired and liberals are so burnt out after being left out in the cold by the dem establishment that they're just riding it out quietly. The horrors go unaddressed by the people in power so why even fight? It's sad but I understand.

Blatant 14th amendment violation. Equal protection clause. Hope the ACLU can do something.

Same for me but with the name Brian Thompson. Gooned myself silly and had to take a breather, then THIS happens!?

With how fast the military and police melted away from parliament after the vote, I'm going to go out on a limb and say no, or at least not backed enough. Good sign for South Korean democracy.

Wow! Hope they act fast to remove the president. Authoritarianism is on the rise everywhere, so glad it got beat back there if only for a moment.

Apologies for poor grammar and sentence structure. I typed this on my phone at night right after hearing about President Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter. I'm worried.

...doesn't mean it can't happen. We need to watch carefully how Trump uses the military within the borders of the U.S. during the next 4 years, as well as how he uses his pardon power. While he may have vast sweeping legal powers, his treatment of norms will set the tone for decades to come.

All of it can be traced back to senators making decisions that bucked the norms of Roman political society and attempted to shut out any opposition voice (beginning with the rich attempted to monopolize and privatize land). Two wrongs don't make a right. Trump will use this as an excuse to pardon all January 6th insurrectionists he can with 0 shame. At least we would have had the moral high ground before.
comment in response to

I honestly don't feel good about this. At the end of the day we all know Trump is going to happily pardon the January 6'ers, and Biden backing up the prosecution of his own son was instrumental in establishing a moral and legal high ground. Now that high ground is gone. Hope it was worth it.

Also, it gives me a reason not to throw out my old bananas. I easily lose 90% of the bananas I buy cuz I'm not in the mood to eat a whole banana at a given time.

Counter point: if you wanna make a ww2 shooter, I don't really see a tasteful way to incorporate the holocaust. People would be posting clips of themselves doing 360 no-scopes on the auschwitz liberation map.

I'd rather them just advertise (being selective of course with who advertises), any monthly fee will severely drop usage and push people back to Twitter.
