Russia started this war by brutally invading a sovereign democracy and claiming innocent lives. You will not rewrite history. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

For #smallpoemsunday, my visual poem "Lady Writer," an erasure using Ali Smith's "The Accidental." I called it "Lady Writer" bc of the way the woman's hair falls around her face, as with the knowledgable writer in the Dire Straits song. (Which I understand is about the writer Marina Warner.) 🙂

Saw an exhibit of Mar Arza’s works today, including this marvellous filing cabinet which the brochure calls “a text that describes certain folds of consciousness, words that belong to nobody, being from anyone, that run dizzyingly towards a void in which they will finally manage to become absorbed.”

The ground always takes you back.

a visual poem for #smallpoemsunday, using Walden as the source text. this is in the new issue of @hungermtn.bsky.social

"there are mirrors that ought to have wept from shame and terror" the first Neruda poem I remember reading, and it does stick in the mind. also I wish such sites would remove the xitter link option. poetry in particular has no place on xitter. poets.org/poem/walking...

The world in 2025. Hundreds of thousands of Germans oppose neo-fascism. The top aide to the president of the United States supports it. apnews.com/article/germ...

Park your car, forget your anger.

for #smallpoemsunday the fog bank peering above the daisies is confident and serene and I am refreshed the freight train rattles past dispensing odors of foreign oceans, and I feel more interesting now (an erasure from Walden, in the new issue of The Glacier @42milespress.bsky.social)

“And he laughs at the dark.“ A poem by Maureen Owen.

I'm mad at a character in a book.

A visual poem from my book "Classic Crimes," due in spring from @sarabandebooks.bsky.social. This (& others) are in the new issue of The Glacier @42milespress.bsky.social. The titles are taken from the text that has been obscured -- this one is called "The Shambles."

well, sorry for the delay but I finally deactivated the cesspool 🥂

I'm not big on NYE but didn't manage to wriggle out of it this year. At 230 am I put my foot down after 2 hrs of heated arguments about Israel. My brainbulb went at out 11 pm. Nevertheless, this morning we found our bakery open & I read 10 or Brecht poems & liked every one, incl. this very apt one.

Let the bygones go by...
