it's genuinely insane how often the exact things that their collective work describes: Emma with her discussions on how detransitioners used as rhetorical objects and dehumanized, Talia and epistemic violence and the denial of transfeminine voices, play out against them over and over.

@taliabhatt.itch.io is incredibly open about how and why she works and it's infuriating to see time and time again that people remove context, attack credibility, and deny her a voice - a very common theme in her writing, proven again and again - and seeing her get attacked is fucking infuriating.

like straight up, i would not have the understanding of myself as a trans woman in nearly the same level of clarity and certainty if not for her. ribbing aside, she's genuinely one of the people who 'gets it' and can talk about the hardest questions and feelings around transness in a way few can.

But people want a sign that's as obvious as The Hands from early days of genAI art, but the reality is that it's not simple anymore. The signs are subtler, and they can't be called out right away. You have to, surprisingly, actually respect and appreciate human creation to tell when something isn't.

the actual signs of AI are interesting: inability to stay on track OR an inability to move on, extremely mechanical word-choices that often ignore synonyms that could provide more impact, it's hard to describe to someone who doesn't 'get' writing but it feels like a blender-smooth acceptable result

I switched narrators for the third part of a trilogy but I think it paid off, Cora's simultaneously such a massive softie but also a deeply broken person, giving her the opportunity to destroy herself was too tempting
I do feel genuinely bad about some of the things I put her though lmao
