I also hate that turn of phrase (although only because it was reportedly coined by Julie Burchill), but I swear that description of Fry continues to become even more apt over time

Especially so as AfD will become an exceptionally difficult opposition party if they're not invited to form a coalition, further emboldened by the credence of them demonstrably representing a significant proportion of the German population

Who's "we" in Trump's claim that "we had so much wealth" in the late 19th century? A handful of robber barons were some of the wealthiest people in history (largely thanks to their exploitative use of slavery, cronyism and antitrust), but the majority of Americans were not rich.

Is this the same Stephen Fry who no longer supports Stonewall while vocally supporting JK Rowling's transphobic tantrums, and hangs out with Islamophobic transphobes Richard Dawkins and Douglas Murray?

The GC grifters are really milking that tribunal while it's still underway, desperately shoe-horning in a tenuous reference so they can republish their same fact-free opinion column yet again

He shows wilful ignorance about GMC registration for trans people (bonus points for needlessly mentioning pronouns), then gets excited about hypothetical sex scandals, and reduces a refugee's plight to their premature hair loss. Has anyone seen Michael Deacon and Quentin Letts in the same room?

Attention, mutual bigoted views, and a naïve assumption that a serial deadbeat dad will actually pay child support

Everyone in the room forced to pretend that Elmo using his kid as a human shield is a completely normal thing to do during a formal press briefing

I've never watched Plebs (or ITV2, for that matter) so I was absolutely unprepared for Jon Pointing's magnificent tits in the first episode🥰🫦

The show truly ended on a high, and I hope Jack Rooke continues writing incredible TV comedies beyond this

Camille Coduri's and Annette Badland's performances are particularly iconic

Starmer should aspire to be assassinated, having displayed so much bigotry and corruption that the public sides with the assassin?

I live in Derby so most of the time I have to make do with EMR's inferior mascot glaring at me as I approach the concourse

Did you have any luck with Mastodon? I like the underlying concept of a decentralised social media platform, but the UX is abysmal

That's not what rawdogging is but ok

To be fair, this is exactly what some them voted for. Many in the centrist/Tory faction of the party believe that disabled people and low-income households don't deserve any state assistance, and voting for an ostensibly left-wing party means they don't need to openly admit their prejudices

Already fearful that becoming "Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells" is the form my midlife crisis will take as I hit my 40s😬

Along with the Munya Chawawa video, this feels like a fact-free attempt at pretending that the public only supported the assassin once his identity was revealed, which is demonstrably untrue

Can't tell if this was meant as veiled criticism or he was trying to flex his knowledge of the clothes I bought over 3 years ago

He's like Henry Ford but with unreliable cars that are unaffordable to the masses
