This week on Off Panel, legendary artist and long-time teacher Klaus Janson joins me on the podcast to discuss his art, career, and life after over 50 years in comics.

Great interview with @vizcomic.bsky.social's Holly Fisher: sktchd.com/interview/ho... @sktchd.bsky.social #manga #comics #KeigoShinzo #hirayasumi

This upcoming Monday on Off Panel.

In Comics Disassembled, I wrote about ten things I liked or didn't like from the week of comics, including DC vs. Marvel (again), digital comic changes, new Lucie Bryon (!!), the Cartoonist Coop doing cool things, great art, new Zander Cannon (!!), and more.

In my February Mailbag Q&A, I answer subscriber/patron questions about: Why I still read physical comics! Examples of articles that are about me as much as comics! Collection rules! The cyclical nature of the X-Men! Substack x Comics, in retrospect! The Luka trade! More!

How do some of my favorite manga titles like Hirayasumi and Tokyo Alien Bros. come to life in English? That was a question I had, so I talked with @viz.com Editor Holly Fisher about the work that goes into doing just that, the brilliance of Keigo Shinzo, and more. This is open to non-subscribers.

With Daredevil: Born Again coming soon, my feature on why Daredevil is Marvel's greatest ongoing of all time and what makes Matt Murdock such a standout is now open to non-subscribers. With insight from: @brianmbendis.bsky.social! Ed Brubaker! @chrissamnee.bsky.social! Chip Zdarsky! More!

Somehow, my comics interview podcast is just 12 episodes from 500, and I'm aiming to have a very big (and very me) run up to that big number. Want to support the podcast, get early access to each week's episode, be able to submit questions, and more? Back the podcast on Patreon (but not via iOS)!

I highlight my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from the week of comics, including FML #4 as my Comic of the Week and Nights Season One Volume 2 as my Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week.

With @sweetdotdev.bsky.social back in the news with the announcement that @imagecomics.com will be on its new Sweet Shop digital comics store, now would be a good time to listen to my chat with Sweet’s head @kennym.bsky.social on Off Panel this week!

THE CARTOONIST COOPERATIVE IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE... The very first DIGITAL COMICS RESIDENCY! A PAID opportunity for comics creators AROUND THE WORLD. Learn more at our journal: cartoonist.coop/journal/anno... (Art by @amandajealous.bsky.social !)

Comics is people. The people who make comics. The people who sell comics. The people who read comics. And it’s the best thing in the world.

This week on Off Panel, @sweetdotdev.bsky.social's @kennym.bsky.social joins the podcast to talk about what he's building at Sweet, his own path to comics, why he wanted to build marketing tools and a new digital comic store, working with (and learning from) creators, and more.

Been intrigued by the ideas behind Kenny Meyer's Bindings and Sweet Shop, so I'll be listening to this one! @sktchd.bsky.social sktchd.com/podcast/off-...

I am tremendously excited to be on Off Panel, an excellent podcast by one of the best in the #comics business, @davidharper.bsky.social On the podcast I talk about @sweetdotdev.bsky.social, a lot of inside baseball, a little heartbreak, and a lot of love. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/o...

I’ve been craving a return to cosmic comic making. Been slowly chipping away at solo Image book which I hope to start releasing either late this year ( or more likely earlier ish next )

The orders for THE POWER FANTASY #7 are finalised on Monday. The second summer of love AND Eliza hellbound. This one has everything. Well, at least two things, but they’re good things. @imagecomics.com @casparw.bsky.social #imagecomics #comics #thepowerfantasy

DC and Marvel crossing over is back in the news, so now’s a good time to share my oral history of 1996’s DC vs. Marvel crossover, and the Amalgam universe that was born from it. This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever done. I loved it so.

I wrote about ten things I liked or didn't like from the week of comics, including Exquisite Corpses, publishers expanding, a title's return, a Godzilla micro line, Kamome Shirahama entering the conversation, a slew of Big Two news, Aliens vs. Avengers getting Sinister, and more.

Just had a fantastic interview with SKTCHD Magazine! Great questions. Give it a read!

Who is @beetlemoses.bsky.social? Or, maybe more accurately, what is Beetle Moses? I talked to the cartoonist about his hit webcomic, what guides him as he creates each comic, what he's learned in the three years of the comic, and more. It's open to non-subscribers.

It's a monster release week in comic shops, and I highlight my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from the week in The Pull, including Aliens vs. Avengers #3 as my Comic of the Week and the Beasts of Burden Omnibus as my Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week.

Put your pencils down, the perfect Joker has been drawn.

Great pod interview with the living legend Tradd ✨

As a giant fan of Tradd Moore, Savannah GA, and @davidharper.bsky.social, this has the makings for a great podcast listen.

This week on Off Panel, writer/artist Tradd Moore joins the show for a sprawling conversation about his life, art, and career, as we discuss his approach to all three through the prism of projects like Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise.

In this week's edition of Comics Disassembled, I mix things up a bit by talking about a bunch of art things I love from Chris Samnee, Jesse Lonergan, Juann Cabal, and more, as well as Diamond updates, Marvel's malaise, the debut of Jenny Blake Isabella, and more.

Jeff the Land Shark is having a moment, and I wrote about what makes the character so irresistible (with insight from @kellythompson.bsky.social + @mightybrunstad.bsky.social), the Marvel Rivals Bump, and the increased interest that game has led to for his comics — and others.

I am a banned author. Please care about book bans. And fight back! This is how they spread repression. It starts local, at some tiny branch library in a rural town. We have to fight them there. If we can't be bothered, they win. And they know this.

In The Pull, I wrote about my buys, recommendations, and curiosities from the week of comics, including One World Under Doom's debut as my Comic of the Week and Kill or Be Killed's compendium as my Trade/Graphic Novel of the Week.

This week on Off Panel, @polygon.com's @susanapolo.bsky.social joins me the podcast to discuss 2025's important slate for comic movies/shows and our general feelings on that space, before we chat about comic things we're interested in but didn't get to write about in 2024.
