NGC 2359 thors helmet. 8 hours of exposure time over the past week in my backyard with an astrotech 72 edii telescope and a sony a6300 camera #astrophotography #nightsky #photography

an underrated jwst image

I got this piece done tonight for Howl and I'm still vibrating about it lmao, a VERY fun piece of Aurum having her own take on a GLORIOUS EVOLUTION (I don't have Arcane brainrot YOU do) coming in at 9 hours total. I could not be happier with how it came out. PS you should watch Arcane.

Simply just wow….✨🩷✨🧡✨💚✨🩵✨🩷✨

Goodnight everyone

It’s Sunday, so let’s share the good word: If churches want to play politics, they can pay taxes like the rest of us. God doesn’t need a tax break, but millionaire pastors sure seem to love one.

Did you know, the current estimates, our galaxy, the Milky Way, could contain hundreds of billions of planets, with scientists believing that around 300 million of them could potentially be habitable, meaning they have the right conditions to potentially support life as we know it. Crazy, huh?

Venusian Intergalactic Telescope unveils the Serpent’s Spiral Galaxy, located 720 million light-years away in the enigmatic Hydra constellation. A cosmic marvel, weaving tales of stardust and ancient celestial mysteries. P.S. This is science fiction.

A beautiful clear night last night so I focussed mainly on a small portion of C92 (left). Showed the power of the Seestar - just 10deg away from looking directly at a street light! Quick snap of M42 while I was there.....why not.... Processing in Lightroom

First clear night in forever, and little Moon, so I pointed the Origin 🔭 for three hours on this beautiful lesser-known star-forming region NGC 7822. Note the cluster of stars on the right, whose radiation and winds are sculpting the gas cloud into fantastic shapes and making it glow.

In Space tonight: Like delicate cosmic petals, these clouds of interstellar dust and gas have blossomed 1,300 light-years away in the fertile star fields of the constellation Cepheus. Sometimes called the Iris Nebula and cataloged as NGC 7023, this is not the only nebula in the sky to evoke 🌺

The closest known black hole to Earth is just 1,560 light-years away ✨😎✨

My grand finale tonight. An image I've dreamed of capturing ever since being a young boy in the 1960s. The iconic Horsehead Nebula. It's taken 4 months since buying the SeestarS50 for the time, location and seeing conditions to be right. Very happy with this. 😊🎉🔭

GO LOOK AT THE MOON AND VENUS TONIGHT THEY’RE SO PRETTY

The birth of a star captured by JWST 💫✨💫😲💫✨💫

Here’s something to think about as you kick off 2025: ✨We are all stardust.✨ Every atom of oxygen in our lungs, of carbon in our muscles, of calcium in our bones, of iron in our blood—was created inside a star before Earth was born. Image: NASA Hubble Space Telescope, CC BY 2.0, flickr
