With our national debt being so large, why is there talk about tax cuts? Spending cuts make sense, but not tax cuts.

Tariffs only bring manufacturing jobs if they are consistent such that manufacturers can do cost benefit analysis. No one should believe that is trumps motive.

GOP congressmen are complaining Trump didn’t communicate with them about his tariff U-turn. They say they could defend the President better if they had known. The tariffs are indefensible, and they should never have defended him in the first place. The do NOT work for him.

Remember when the Department of Justice acted in the best interest of the United States rather than any individual President? Yeah, those were good times.

Trump is just fulfilling his Project 2025 campaign promises. Wait, what? He disavowed Project 2025? How could anyone have seen this coming, other than the tons of people warning us about this nightmare.

The US is $3 trillion poorer today than it was 3 days ago. Even for a bad businessman like Trump, that is incredibly impressive.

The advantage democratic nations have had is their free trade and closeness. Note the brutal dictators have formed close ties, eg, Russia, China, North Korea. America has now chosen to be closer to the dictator countries than to democratic ones, and to eschew free trade. This will end badly.

Trump wants to sell his billions in “truth” social, but he nothing into it so his basis is $0. By selling now, he would pay a lot more than his usual $750/year in taxes. By waiting until his tax cuts for the rich go thru, he will save >$100M. His plan: market drop->lower interest->pass tax cut->sell

Headline: CDC’s top laboratory on sexually transmitted diseases is shut by Trump administration This wouldn't have happen when Trump was younger and constantly assaulting, er, I mean, sleeping with women.

If Trump runs for a third term, I vote for Obama to run again!

It seems as long as Trump gets a tax break for himself that he so desperately wants, MAGAts will be happy. I'll never understand why they worry about taking care of Trump more than they do for themselves, their kids, or their grandkids. But here we are.

Trump destroyed documents that were required to be preserved during his first term. This term he has people using signal on insecure phones to prevent Americans from access, and thereby allowing only foreign governments (via hacking said phones) access. Apparently Americans are the greatest enemy.

Trust is hard to win, easy to lose, and nigh impossible to regain once it has been breached. Trump managed to squander 80 years of built trust in two months. America was great when he took office. It will likely never be great again. Trump truly is the greatest loser of all time.

“These aren’t tariffs. They are a horse’s head in the bed of (almost) every world government and business leader.” —David Rothkopf

Trump is all but demanding the Fed reducing interest rates. The whole reason Trump is destroying our economy is to gain lower interest rates, which will lower the national debt interest payments. Given the “saving”, he can then pass tax cuts for himself. Everything is about his gain or his sadism.

The right thinks being woke is an insult. Apparently they are proud to be asleep, ie, the opposite of woke.

Why aren’t we able to remove presidents who violate their oath of office? apple.news/A2UIpi9JkRcq...

Grassley and other senators introduced legislation to revoke tariffs that aren’t approved by Congress within 60 days. They have been asleep while Trump has torn up the constitution, and seem to have no inkling of his strategies. He will simply create the same tariff every 60 days.

Trump harmed the world by imposing import taxes. But at least he spared his closest ally Putin. Russia “somehow” escaped these taxes.

Musk is a lightning rod for protests. But what happens when he steps down and DOGE is still illegally shutting down departments and firing people? Do the protests lose steam, continue to protest Musk even though he is gone, or transform? Seems to me the real problem is Trump granting illegal powers

Let’s pretend Trump’s intention with tariffs is to increase manufacturing in the US, the opposite of his first term. Foreign firms will only build plants here if they are certain it will benefit them long term. Trump’s herky, jerky chaos delivers anything but certainty. Few will want to build here.

Presidents don’t have line item veto power. But even if they did, once a law is passed, they are duty bound to enforce it. Congress has budgeted numerous organizations, and presidents have signed those budgets into law. By unilaterally defunding them, he is violating the constitution and his oath.

To say Trump is mismanaging America’s economy would be a bigly understatement. As would saying Trump is using the Office of the Presidency for his own sadistic pleasure.

Navarro said the soundbite about Trump running for a third term is a plant to distract the media from focusing on “how incompetent and reckless his national security team is.” She called him the distraction-in-chief. YES. News media is maybe picking up that they can’t allow him distract them.

"You're talking about Putin, I don't think he's going to go back on his word." —Trump I guess Trump’s boss Putin warned him to dial back his blustering during their nightly call.

Trump ordered “improper, divisive, or anti-American ideology from the Smithsonian and its museums, education and research centers, and the National Zoo.” But wait. Didn’t he also order anti-American statues to be put back up again? The goon can’t make up his darn mind.

Trump has spent $26 million tax payer dollars in his first two months. I say cut the blimp, er, I mean bloat.

“if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” —Trump I call BS. From past reporting on their conversations, my bet is Putin told Trump, during one of their nightly calls, to say this so MAGAts can claim he is tough on Putin.

A lot of people are concerned about Trump having a third term. I’m not. His health is too poor; I estimate he has less than a 1% chance to live through his second term. He’s one Big Mac from being ketchup on the wall.

It's amazing Congress is allowing Trump to illegally close agencies. The constitution grants Congress the power of the purse. When they create an agency and fund it, the President administers it but has no power to shutter it. The country can't operate on two legs-it needs Congress as the third leg

"This pardon is not just about me — it's about every American who has been railroaded by the government" --Milton after Trump's pardon Um, he means railroaded by a jury of his peers, ie, his fellow citizens.

I guarantee the following: The disrespect and disdain this administration has for how to handle classified material will result in by far the largest loss of classified intel in history. This will harm democracies around the world, with Americans suffering the bigliest.

You knew this was going to happen. Now all your tweets and DMs are fodder for his crappy AI engine, and will be used by right wing nuts to steal elections.

“Yes, the people of Greenland are going to have self determination. We hope that they choose to partner with the US because we’re the only nation on earth that will respect their sovereignty…” —VP Vance 🤣 That is too precious ha ha ha! The disrespect we’ve shown them is staggering.

Trump hates the Signal scandal is still in the news. That’s a sure sign he is going to do something stupid and reckless to distract everyone from their usage of insecure phones on an unapproved app to share classified secrets.

“Michael Waltz has learned a lesson, and he’s a good man.” — President Trump What lesson did Waltz learn?

Trump issued a warning to US automakers: They better not raise car prices because of tariffs. First, goodbye constitution. Second, goodbye first amendment. Now, goodbye capitalism.

“Now we have to spend hours retraining and reiterating rules to personnel who see these double standards and question why they should be held accountable when leadership is not.” --DOD security trainer No kidding! Leaders must be held to at least the same standard as the rest of us.

Trump signed an executive order that seeks to restore monuments and remove "anti-American ideology" from national museums. Two opposing objectives in the same order. He never ceases to show his stupidity.

Steven Miller: we soon make clear to Egypt and Europe what we expect in return.… there needs to be some further economic gain extracted in return. No, no, no. You agree on price BEFORE taking action. Miller’s extortion price will likely be much higher than the value to EU/Egypt.
