I'm just thankful we got Metroid during a time where people had to think before posting thoughts publicly. The second the "big reveal" happened that Samus was a woman would have made the current climate of some of the loudest minority shit themselves.

Maybe there are players who want to talk to a character about "anything" but it seems pretty generic and boring to me. By its nature it kind of has to be: the less connected information is to the uniqueness of an individual character, the more it will just sound like a voiced Wikipedia entry.
