Probably the best example yet of a Quake 3 campaign of some kind, with a heap of classic Doom in the mix for good measure.
The campaign has great level design but I wish it had more of an identity stylistically besides what you point out about it being 3D, and the really great model work.

Still think for faces and such it might be worth going over it with a digital painting program. I tried my best to fix up Bea's face but it does end up looking weird. Either that or create a separate finer layer for specifically the face, which might be difficult if it's just a texture like Bea.
