relatable (I just launched one of these!!) honestly, we just workshopped the copy real hard and then put it up on GoFundMe (linked below) I can't say it's better/worse than anything else (& have no time to talk publicly about how it's going) but there's movement! www.gofundme.com/f/video-game...

I know we're all having a tough time of it, so if you can't help out this time, please keep us in mind for later. I've also included some non-money ways you can all help in the FAQ on our GoFundMe page. and please share!! The more we get the word out, the more we can raise and the more we can do.

It's not -not- working, but it's so clear that we need to do more and there's no way I can do it by myself. So let's make some music, let's pay people what they're worth, and let's make sure the industry stays diverse, because that's how we get better games and better art.

If you know me, you know that I've made advocacy and community a part of what I do: I co-founded Beats to Play Games to, founded Black in Game Audio, and helped organize Diversity in Game Audio and Black in Game Audio panels across the industry. I want to make change... but it's not working.

We aren't gonna be able to stay in the industry if we don't figure something out, we all know the president doesn't care, so we are all gonna have to help each other out. If we can get into the habit of showing up for each other, we CAN make it through these times. I hope you'll support us now.

This edition of the talk will move at a bit of a slower pace - we'll take a little more time to dive into the things I want to talk about and maybe even make time for a little more ✨music✨ (you know how I like music) If you're in the Seattle area drop on by!!

It’s one thing to hear it in my music software, but seeing it live is an entirely different experience. It’s going to be so fabulous to see the full thing when it officially debuts.

I don't often get a chance to write music that moves around thematically and harmonically quite as much as this does, but some of the techniques I applied to shape this have been a part of a _lot_ of the music I've written since.

doing a deep-dive listen of the entire Chrono Trigger soundtrack (lights out, eyes closed, headphones, head on couch) and then seeing what I came up with.

I thought, hmm, I'll try to write some music like this! which led me down a rabbit hole that included: analyzing the music in the demo, transcribing about half of it (aka listening to it and writing it down on sheet music, which in my opinion is exactly as metal as it sounds) -
