I take a long time to finish builds, if at all. NO KIT GETS BINNED.

I've been defeated. I can't find the bloody thing. Given up and sat on the sofa with a beer.

I can handle 1/72 aircraft without too much trouble. But this is tiny. Would have helped if I'd bothered to get tweezers to help me build it.

To be honest I don't think he's really interested in the building process. Probably just wants to paint and play with it.
comment in response to post
To be expected. I'm just waiting for it to be dunked in paint when he decides he wants to paint it.

I am a moderator, but I don't do much but accept/reject new member requests. I'm generally quite passive to it all. I wasn't aware, but you can see who the new members are, who's been banned, who's posts have been flagged on the log. I was asked to help a good while ago, but it's not my creation.

I missed that post, but just read it. Seems a bit petty. Someone did flag a post from someone about the worst part of trumpeter kits is the first part of the name. I asked them to remain relevant and at least post a photo of said kit. I'm happy to assist, but sometimes he sucks the joy out of it.

It's alright I've checked the moderator log.

We've all done it. 🤭

#Histscalemodel not sure if #Scalehistmodels will work in the feed.

Adding a little brown to the yellow will reduce the saturation. I did to the RLM 04 so it didn't look too vibrant.

Really smart work so far Roy.

I could start plenty and finish none. I've 10 days to finish my trident before our club meeting. Thought it was enough. Not so sure now someone has told me that's how long I've got.

I've recently acquired this kit and the level of detail is exceptional. To the point I think I'll build it straight from the box. It's fast moving up my list of future builds

Satin coat has settled nicely. VMS satin thinned 3:1 with their thinners. Just got the tarp to repaint where it was damaged and then this is about done. #Histscalemodels

There's no story that can't be made better by the use of the word chopper.

Modern day racketeering. The bloke who collects the money is not the same guy who cleans the windows at our place.

Don't try and Finnish the Blenheim with the CMK kit, otherwise you might never finish your kit!
comment in response to post
Usually not had many problems with the finish on the model. This is the first time that I've thinned it heavily.
comment in response to post
Yep. Trying to whittle it down.

I got the best part of 5 months last year without buying a new kit. I think I ended up with about 16 by the end of the year.

Very nice winged thing Tom!

A fresh cocktail stick would be mat advice for lifting the corners and then using fine tweezers.

You could fill with putty and then super glue over the top. But I wonder why you'd double the effort. This is the first one I've done with just super glue. So far it's held well and I've not had any cracks appear as a result of heavy handling during sanding.
comment in response to post
Super glue only. I find that all putties shrink a little and leave a visible seam even if it is minimal. That's not an issue if the seam is on a panel line. I leave the super glue to dry for 24 hrs before cleaning it up. I'm quite pleased as this one cleaned up like glass before paint.

I'll admit I was confused until I saw the gun.

You and me both.

I agree. Sometimes it all looks so smart under primer only. Depends how many times you need to prime, inspect, sand repeat depends on how enjoyable it actually is.
comment in response to post
We'll need to see how it goes under primer.

I decided to super glue the seams as I didn't trust TET or styrene glue to hold it properly. Alignment is the key issue. After it was glued I had to cut it open again in parts to get better alignment. I think it was worth it as so far the seams haven't been too much of an issue

Looking really smart Roy. Tremendous effort so far.

I agree about the vintage classic moniker. It's taking quite a bit of effort on the seams. This is the 1/144 HS Trident 1C. I'm going to have to make engine covers as the symmetry of the halves is poor at best.

If it's any help Rhys will when my kids were born I stayed up late to do the late night feed and my Mrs went to bed early. Gave me some opportunity to work on a few bits and pieces. Routine will come, but I understand your frustration.

I can see your point. It just hasn't finished how I'd imagined it in my head. I'll not rush into anything rash.

I spotted the runs before it set so I sprayed neat thinners over it. But it doesn't seem to have had much of an effect.

I was ready to apply the decals and noticed on the instructions that there's a white trim on the wheel arches and bumper. That was a lot of fun to mask and paint!

The clean one isn't really clean! 😁
