My mum and I appreciate a bargain and one of the highest compliments we can pay to the other’s financial savvy is “You couldn’t knit it for that”. Particularly applied to items which are fundamentally unknittable.

It's about time supposedly progressive govts acknowledged capitalism stops functioning when 99% of people live in a permanent recession, just to support a permanent boom-time for the other 1%.
That's not growth. And we all sense it in our bones. Hence the permanent electoral discontent, globally.
