That's the nuance between snitches and whistleblowers.

I think the implication is that he's lived in New Mexico for 30 years but before that he's from Minneapolis.

If you think a mayor Cuomo would stand up to Donald Trump, you're mistaken.

Killing one specific CEO that had personally been involved in a company that denied his health care was terrorism but making a list of Democrats to methodically murder isn't. Okay guy.

news stories referring to "peacekeepers" and "peacekeeping teams" as commonly understood terms is irresponsible. especially when one of them killed a man.

If everybody from the rest of the country came in and flooded LA, then where did the people at the other rallies come from?

I get the impulse to be able to make something in your kitchen and give it to people to help a lot of people but it would be better to have just a handful of these ready for the people who get it the worst. And yeah go home and take a shower and rinse your eyes. amzn.to/4e3SaAd

Maybe the point of citric acid is to try to change the pH but you could literally just get saline eye drops or an emergency iron kit.

If it's not someone trying to hurt people maybe it's AI. Salt makes some sense because it's in saline but I've even found articles about doctors warning that sugar in your eye will cause bacteria growth (apparently there's a BAD home remedy for conjunctivitis going around that involves sugar).

And soap is necessary sometimes to dissolve certain things that aren't water soluble.

Baby shampoo makes sense to get things off your skin because it's also supposed to not irritate your eyes but adding sugar to anything just feeds bacteria.

Q Anon was started by some anon chud on 4Chan claiming to be an agent of the deep state. If you agree with me that anyone who would believe that is a gullible mark, why would you believe someone who gets on Bsky and claims to be an insider from NPS? And why would they know secret stuff beyond parks?

Real count is around 5 million, which is still amazing.

Yeah because the numbers aren't real. These accounts are grifters.

We've been warning people about auto following any chuckle fuck on BlueSky who posts a lot of anti-Trump memes because misinformation accounts build a base first. Seems like it would be an easy pivot from "retired RN" posting AI lib memes to tricking protesters into washing their eyes with acid.

Great idea. Just like the Teslas. Flood the used market.

Yup, and it can't do analysis. You might be able to get it to pull data into a table if that data is already decently formatted, but chances are if you're looking in 17th century birth records for someone, it's not going to be able to handle wildly different spellings, f/s, and handwriting anyway.

Unless it's very new, it was probably purchased under the previous ownership too.

I mean if you already paid for it throwing it out doesn't really do anything. Just stick a sticker over the label and if you have to replace it buy a ninja.

we told y'all 50 years ago that "stop and frisk" was systemic racism and harmful to communities but it didn't matter as long as the communities being stopped were Black

And we were a big archives that had decent funding. Now think about all the little archives and museums run by elderly volunteers with stuff crammed around and whose website contains no research material at all. So much history an LLM doesn't have bc it can't scrape what isn't online.
comment in response to post
Relatedly, if you haven't been in an archives you have no idea just how much historical material is not online, not even a digital record of it. An LLM cannot research data it doesn't have. It can't even extrapolate where to find that material.

When we call it the plagiarism machine it's partly because it is built on a database of stolen intellectual property, but it's also that it can only regurgitate coherent ideas if they are already extant. And rewriting someone else's ideas in your own words is plagiarism too.

Hanging out hopes on any one person is just asking that person to turn out to be a rapist. We absolutely need a strategy that is community focused and not dependent on defending any personalities.

I'm at the blackout in the apartment (trying to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn't read it.) the Better scene with the potato gutted me.
