I am literally begging people writing about RFK Jr. to stop giving any credence to the idea that "MAHA" is actually about making Americans healthy - it absolutely is not. It is about shaming people with chronic health conditions and substituting snake oil for science.

Pandemics, eugenics and fascism go hand in hand. The moment people accepted the narrative that “only the vulnerable” had to worry about covid, they ceded considerable ground to fascists. They effectively “othered” an entire class of people. It may start with the disabled, it won’t end with us

Gates foundation to commit $1.6 billion for Gavi vaccine alliance reut.rs/3HWBC0X

It’s wild that in the video DHS posted in an effort to make the beating of an innocent landscaper (with 3 marine sons) seem justified there’s a masked ice goon pointing a gun at a random car passing by and they don’t seem to think it matters at all

Know Your Rights Information🚨 ICE has been arresting people at immigration court and routine check-ins across the country. If you or a loved one is in this situation, know you still have rights.

one way to make sense of the position of the republicans on the supreme court is that they do not believe there is such a thing as a legitimate objection to the actions of a republican president, no matter how deranged, depraved, or anti-constitutional www.stevevladeck.com/p/161-the-co...

It's becoming increasingly clear is that the right wing of this Supreme Court is extreme even among federal courts. The district courts and appellate courts keep appropriately halting this shit, expressing appropriate outrage, and trying to hold the line. Then SCOTUS blows it all up.

You might need a cat pic right about now

Today’s unsigned, unexplained #SCOTUS ruling clearing the way for removals of migrants to third countries without any additional process is a disaster—not just on the merits, but because of the government misbehavior that it not only refuses to punish, but effectively rewards. Me, via “One First”:

Justice Sotomayor dissents: "Rather than allowing our lower court colleagues to manage this high-stakes litigation … this Court now intervenes to grant the Government emergency relief from an order it has repeatedly defied. I cannot join so gross an abuse of the Court’s equitable discretion."

every American should know that as of June 2025 only ONE-THIRD of the U.S. Supreme Court agrees with the following statement as it pertains to the federal government deporting people in violation of court orders: "In matters of life and death, it is best to proceed with caution."

2016 was the most important election of our lifetime, it's not even close

This is huge! A human rights tribunal found that employers must accommodate remote work for immunocompromised employees Remote work accommodations are something disabled people have needed for decades Covid showed us it’s possible, but ableism & discrimination took it away We all need this right

I think takes that "fatigue" and "brain fog" don't sound debilitating enough can come from ableism. Maybe you dismissed how debilitating it was when others described it so your goal posts changed. Fatigue and brain fog can be very debilitating. The terms are fine.

🤣

Marco Rubio needs to be asked whether he believes his grandfather who remained in the U.S. after receiving a deportation order from our govt should have been treated the way the father of 3 Marines was treated by ICE this weekend in California. ASK HIM. Make him confront his lack of character.

Amazon is selling a new children's book called "It's Really Fun to Be White" from Stew Peters, a white nationalist who's praised Hitler. The book is currently listed on Amazon as the "#1 New Release" in "Children's General Social Science Books," & Peters has hyped its ranking on the platform.

Someone shared this elsewhere & it is an accurate report of New England weather today.

Bove’s confirmation hearing for the 3rd Circuit is on Wednesday. His own former DOJ colleagues say they don’t trust him to be impartial. Watch the video & insist that your senators do too before they vote.

OH SWELL, the perpetual saga.

A federal judge ruled that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man who was wrongly removed from the U.S. earlier this year and imprisoned in El Salvador, should not be detained pending trial on immigrant smuggling charges. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

I hope everybody in the current heat wave is staying as cool and hydrated as possible. I have to keep reminding myself to drink more water. The dew point here is currently 74 which I think meets the definition of the orange category.

'median home prices [are] up 52% compared to May 2019, while wages gained 30% over that period' anyone want to show me some charts to gaslight me about how the vibes aren't bad

As a nonbinary using the women’s bathroom, this is so gross and anxiety-inducing. Gender is a spectrum: let us pee in peace.

Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” is an extinction-level event for higher education that would annihilate the country’s intellectual potential. For @newrepublic.com, we wrote about Trump's plot to Un-Educate America. newrepublic.com/article/1970...

NEW: A federal judge ordered the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, citing insufficient evidence from the Justice Department that he posed a danger while awaiting trial on immigrant smuggling charges. From: @jaknutson.bsky.social‬

The bill removes future presidents capacity to cancel debt. It removes health care providers exchange of debt to work for low cost health centers. It dramatically attacks and reduces Pell grants. It will enslave you into debt and result in university closures everywhere.

I updated this piece from February with new guidance on what workers and owners can do if ICE shows up at your restaurant www.eater.com/24364171/ice...

We have gone from the margin of error to the margin of effort. On the day before the election, we stand on the verge of toppling a political dynasty and winning a city we can afford. But we can only do it with you. zohranfornyc.com/gotv

On RFK Jr and what he has wrought. There is no “making common cause with MAHA.” We have to push out the grift and rally around public health institutions.

If anything, it is understated in our public consciousness how “North Korean” we have gotten in such a short period of time, even compared to Trump’s first term. We are only a few short months in and already upwards of a BILLION has been spent on making this one guy feel good about himself:

This whole, "sexual assault and harassment is bad when Trump does it, but ok when our side does it," is sending a really clear message that the old guard of Democratic leadership only cares about women when it's politically advantageous. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...

5% approval!! Yes AOC, Warren & others reacted appropriately, but many many other Dems are blowing open layups, with responses ranging from Jeffries flaccidly demanding a briefing to Auchincloss’ abominable “these strikes were strategically sound … a generational opportunity”

Not enough face-palm in the world.

This is of course the same thing the WGA strikes were about. Nobody really thinks LLMs can do the job. But bosses want to pretend to get an LLM to do the job then only pay for "rewrites" (more work but less pay).

“Adopted by the state in late 2023, the prehospital blood administration protocol allows emergency medical services and other properly equipped medical service providers to perform blood transfusions on patients who may otherwise not survive long enough to make it to the hospital.”

i almost can’t read this it makes me so angry. delusional grifters with purity fetishes and eugenic worldviews have brought pain, suffering and death to children www.nytimes.com/2025/06/22/u...

1. There have been some exceptional comments on this thread, and as a result I'm going to recount a personal experience from 2020 that explains why I come down much harder on the side of incompetence rather than conspiracy.

When a disabled person shares a story of medical trauma, they're told to 'just lodge a complaint' People don't understand how broken the complaint process is, or the risk of retaliation facing those of us who speak out Once you're labelled 'difficult' or 'non compliant' it's very hard to get care:

When you’re chronically ill, you learn to play through the pain To push your body when you’re suffering You can’t rest until you “feel better”, because there is no “better” Non disabled people can’t comprehend this, because when they’re sick they have the hope that the next day will be “better”

My law firm is currently litigating 55 voting and election cases in 24 states. The Supreme Court will issue orders tomorrow that could affect this number. Stay tuned.
