Has always been so… ideological rather than evidential. Evidence used to promote a narrative and a position. See Ofsted subject reports which regularly used evidence out of context to push an approach.

Sorry but this is twaddle. Trauma-informed is not about lowering expectations, we found that by supporting young people they were able to achieve better, it’s not either or, it’s about creating climates where young people feel safe to take risks and challenge themself. It’s not either or…

These are big hits in school at the moment. Getting lots of word of mouth and must read recommendations from pupils #KidsBooksFriday. Having read them I can absolutely see why, fab reads the lot of ‘em

Absolutely, I have seen and been guilty of driving children away from reading in the pursuit assessments. Overdosing on comprehension rather creating opportunities to discuss and explore. Let’s be honest as well sometimes it’s hard work and there are easier things to do.
