Anyway, I suspect the Carney govt actually wants to do the 20% military pay increase, but the ‘system’ is finding creative ways to stiffle and slow roll. We should expect the same with a number of the new defence initiatives.

Worth nothing that the 2% defence spending announcement wasn’t clear on the salary increase. The PM alluded to it, bit the backgrounder wasn’t definitive.

I also had to swear to the Queen when I became a citizen. It felt really strange, having grown up on revolutionary war history. On the other hand, Queen E >> King C, so my timing was good.
