it’s becoming increasingly clear the goal of the far right is to defund and buy up every source of reliable information until there is no more objective reality to counter them

This show is just so god damn good #Silo

These SNL cold opens are way too long lately…

How are people always getting high quality stills or clips from tv/movies? I feel like I must have missed class the day we were taught this internet skill… can someone teach me please?

just from a folklore point of view, "attractive hooded man kills billionaire head of hated business with bullets inscribed with political slogans and then vanishes" is narratively breathtaking

let’s play a game called was that an eye floater, was that a hallucination, or was that actually a spider i saw run across the wall from the corner of my eye this time?

Between the earthquake/tsuanmi scare, the UnitedHealthcare shooting and the South Korea martial law stuff this week, it feels like Bluesky is getting more and more critical mass around breaking events that made Twitter so sticky and useful.

TSUNAMI WARNING CANCELED. The Tsunami Warning is canceled for the coastal areas of California and Oregon

EUREKA, Calif. (AP) — Powerful earthquake strikes off coast of Northern California; tsunami warning issued.

If you've noticed a sharp rise in commercials promoting the Ontario government's success, the Auditor General has taken note as well. The Ford gov't has spent $103M on the ads, higher than any other gov't. #onpoli

I just finished A Man on the Inside tonight and it is such a lovely, touching show. As a millennial who lost their boomer mother this year, whose father is as quirky as those residents, the show spoke to me on so many levels. I adored it.

oh no where are divorced guys going to invent new slurs at now

remember the reason for the season

the beauty of Home Alone is that, unlike pretty much any other movie I loved when I was younger, I have not come to sympathize with the grown-ups one bit as an adult

I miss seeing the footage of people busting through the doors and tussling with one another on Black Friday. These greedy corporations have robbed us of deals AND entertainment.

Someone lighting their cigarette off of something that just happens to be on fire nearby is the ultimate coolest thing a character can do.

Re: Canada Post strike. Had to ship a box of Xmas and bday gifts for my nieces, from ON to AB, so that they arrive prior to an early December bday. Went to the shipping hub at Staples and FedEx was the cheapest option at 80 freaking dollars!?

People are often surprised when I tell them this: both Twitter and Facebook/insta/threads are now specifically engineered to downgrade, hide, suppress real journalism. If this platform is different, that's a huge change

Imagine … taking a train from Brantford to Goderich … or from Glencoe to Strathroy … or from Palmerston to Elora … or, well, to just about anywhere (our rail network in 1901).

People really don’t say “gol-darn” anymore, do they?

India has the greatest units the rest of the world doesnt hear enough about. Nilgai is nice, but the great grand daddy of the genre is the scariest cow on the planet. meet the Gaur. It rhymes with power and it rhymes with sour. Yes that is a full sized tourist bus.

Everything is terrible, which is why I invest heavily in disco balls to place strategically around my house to bring me little bits of joy through the day

Apparently the TikTok kids are all discovering Imogen Heap at the moment and I am so excited for them. Her music totally captures living in the early aughts to me. That time period doesn’t receive the level of nostalgia it deserves in my opinion.

Call me crazy but I’d rather have a Prime Minister who attends a Taylor Swift concert than one who attends the Freedom Convoy

Watching the most recent ep of SILO, I can’t help but feel like the opening of the premiere episode was a stroke of brilliance. I feel haunted by it, and the implications of it, with everything in the Silo now that Juliette is gone. This show is just so good!

The way I just cackled seeing that Pat King was found guilty!!

Just got home from seeing Gladiator 2 and I thought it was phenomenal. Denzel absolutely ate up the screen and Paul was captivating! I could go on and on about it but to sum things up, I loved it.

A bat got into my house this summer and with all of my shrieking and running around I didn’t get a good look at it. I’m pretty sure it was a little guy though and I’m almost certain he flew back outside because he couldn’t stand how annoying I was.

Once you realize that Trump isn’t nominating cabinet members to RUN agencies but DESTROY them, it makes more sense.

I tried the McRib when it was back in Canada earlier this year and hated it. What I think I was expecting was the weird pork/rib sandwich my highschool cafeteria sometimes served in the late 90’s. Now that shit SLAPPED.

Watched Beetlejuice Beetlejuice tonight… curious what other people thought of it, because I kind of tuned out any dialogue when it first came out. I found it rushed and kind of underwhelming. Every conflict seemed to just resolve way too quickly/easily. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.

A friend of mine is obsessed with this old guy who makes milkshakes, and she just sent me a video he made where the Canadian PM joined him. I stupidly looked at the comments. Y’all… we are so fucking cooked. The comments were so obsessive and aggressive and weird about it. It’s distressing to see.
