This would pay the salary of every fired NPS employee for probably 10 years.

Musk took over the US government with graft and is using it—in combination with his space launch firm—to exploit an allied country that’s suffering under Russian invasion for its mineral rights. The scheme is so imperiously evil I feel like audiences wouldn’t find it believable in a Bond villain.

In this month of attacks on public agencies, we decided to take a look at the economic benefit the National Park Service provides to desert communities. It's worth noting that aside from Saguaro NP in Tucson and Tule Springs NM in Las Vegas, the 58 NPS units in the desert are all in red districts.🧵

btw, i will tell you this - i have been talking to people all day, and the media is missing, whether intentionally or not, how absolutely, volcanically angry the people who have been fired are, not because they lost their jobs, but because their jobs matter, *to us*

Again: tech journalism is meeting this moment in a way the mainstream establishment newspapers and cable channels just aren’t. I can’t emphasize enough what a big deal this is.

The most egregious DEI hire in the history of the U.S.

steph.

Everyone should read this Andrew Van Dam piece on how much work federal employees put in and then get really really mad at that clown Elon Musk www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Originalism achieves its final argument: the Constitution is not a living document but rather a dying old man

Are you are park ranger or park official who was fired in the DOGE purge? We want to talk to you. Reach out to us here:

Buddy we were told to cut every probationary employee, there was no flexibility to the order. It’s not the bureaucrats fault that it was decided to illegally fire the youngest, most motivated federal employees.

Lots of conservatives axiomatically believe that the federal bureaucracy is unnecessary. Core worldview stuff. Really hard for them to grapple with evidence that it’s mostly good/useful.

“We’re getting everything we want and the DEEP STATE is making it unpopular”

the theological controversy here is that doug wilson believes that women who lead churches should be executed

Putting a face to what you read in the news. Until last Friday, I served our nation working as a Research Ecologist with the US Geological Survey (USGS). As a federal scientist, I provided robust, defensible information to support good decisions in natural resource management.

Another part of what's going on is that most government employees care deeply about the mission and the people they serve. We aren't designing yet another sports gambling app. We're providing weather forecasts, emergency management, safe food, clean water, world-class parks & recreation areas.

that would pay for the entire National Park Service budget for 33 years. but "government is inefficient"

The overwhelming majority of those 82 million people couldn't even be assed to go fight The Hated Mohammedan Moselman, the idea that they're gonna go grab Grandpa's .30-30 and go out filibustering in the CanuckiSMO against the 3rd Free Calgary Abominable Snowmen Brigade is just fuckin funny

Senate agrees to Sen. Sullivan (R-Alaska)‘s amendment to prevent cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, 51-49

now voting: Sen. Bennet (D-Colo.) amdt #540 to reinstate National Parks Service employees fired by DOGE. This is amendment 7 of ~40. Hickenlooper amendment defeated 47-53

HELL YEAH BROTHERRRRRRRR

Posted this on the evil site tonight and felt completed to share here.

legitimate reporters should have gotten off Twitter long ago but it’s pretty much unjustifiable now

One of my best friends and coworkers was told he’s most likely going to be laid off tomorrow because he’s a probationary employee He’s only probationary because he’s a veteran hire and they have a 2 yr rather than 1 yr period He’s the highest performing person here This is so fucking stupid

"Not using Twitter is abandoning the public square." I miss plenty of people over there. I will never use it again.

It's with intense gratitude we share stories from some of the 1,000+ National Park Service staff terminated via email on February 14. Their stories contain frustration, anger, evaporated dreams and concern for the future of our parks.

I will vote for the first candidate who tells me they're going to make the biggest government possible. Reacher-sized agencies. Braun Strowman-level social benefits. Government so big it starts belching out National Parks and free healthcare. Chungus State.
