Bravo to the authors on an important study investigating how hormone therapy in transgender individuals affects body composition changes over a 5-year period: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/... Huge step toward being able to provide effective evidence-based metabolic condition care for all

Few studies measure body composition in patients with lung cancer over time; 32 to be exact. I reviewed their findings. Pro: we know muscle loss occurs and intramuscular fat increases. Cons: we know very little about women and changes in fat journals.physiology.org/doi/abs/10.1...

Updated version of our preprint is now live! In addition to our prior data, we conducted a 2ndary analysis of CT-based body comp collected from the National Lung Screening Trial. We found that there are body composition changes prior to cancer diagnosis. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Women are under-represented at senior levels in #academia globally, & across all #science 🧪 disciplines, as shown by these "scissor-shaped curves" ✂️ So how can we ever achieve #gender #equality? We discuss various strategies in this #Cell Commentary #WomeninSTEM www.cell.com/cell/fulltex... 🧵 1/

As a leader, you don’t have a choice in being a role model. The choice is how much energy you invest in being a good one. Being a good leader will always be "energy expensive." The challenge lies not in skills or knowledge, but in the sustained effort it demands.
