We hired a big Island guide who took us to a reserve that is open to the public one day a year. He volunteers there so he could take us. Lots of specialized curved bills that fit flowers and bird names that end in 'iwi.'

I'm conflicted. For years is was Ants, Ants, Ants [thanks E O Wilson] but then Beetles are beautiful [see Living Jewls 1 and 2], but they're tiny and not that easy to find. I asked a great photographer to show me insects. We saw Dragonflies [love at first flight]. But Weevils. Wild, Whacked, Where?
