"Isn't a single anti-fascist movement that has ever won anything with violence."
What the actual fuck are you talking about?

Cost effective way would be to look at card shops or online stores and buy singles of the FFXI cards you want rather than buying multiple packs and hope you pull it.

The FFMTG is technically one 'set' (this is the only release, other than maybe a Secret Lair).
Some product (Commander, Starters, etc) will have exclusive cards, but the majority will be able to randomly pulled from packs.
AFAIK, there is no FFXI cards that is exclusive to any specific product.

I really wanted to like it, all my friends played XIV, and I got the content skip just to get past the worst parts to play with them, but I still bounced off in days.
I don't get what they got out of the game, but I am glad both still exist at least.

The theme park design makes everything feel dispensable; 'everything is interesting so nothing is interesting', and the removal of all friction makes nothing feel good or worthwhile.
There isn't even anything to bond over in XIV like there is in XI. I had no reason to ever chat with others.

I bounced off XIV no less than 4 separate times (1.0, ARR, Stormblood and just last year.)
I just don't enjoy XIV mechanically or design.
Losing sub jobs, meaningful gear, and the rotational gameplay isn't fun compared to working together to make skill chains and stunning mobs out of a TPK move.

I played MtG and got about 11k hours into XI. I can answer some questions.

Like, to me, it was the farthest from the worst thing my parents had done to me or my sister. It was just how my parents were.
But that look from all of my friends made me realize something was *very* wrong if that was their reaction to that. And I learned how not normal it was.

Can you tell SquareEnix to bring the FFXI social media worker to come here too?
Or, you know, hire a social media worker for XI?
Please?

A therapist once told me that if you constantly train your brain to say "once I do/have <x>, I will be happy." You are only priming your brain to chase happiness; we don't get sustainable dopamine in accomplishments. It then forces you to keep finding things to chase after or else that void appears.

I guess if Oro can switch what arm he removed at whim by turning around, I can have a shirt with backwards writing and a hairflip on a different side.

If you spray paint a camera black, it won't work for a day.
If you char the camera black, it won't work for a lifetime.

The people who depend on it will not gain understanding. Human knowledge isn't a recitation of unconnected facts, even less when it can't tell if the facts are correct or not.
It's the incompetence of people with knowledge, without understanding, is why the world is what it is now.

I mean, AI (LLM) doesn't 'know' anything, and it can't 'explore' anything. It's a summary collection of human knowledge without any understanding of the thing it is pulling from. It's no more sentient on topics than a wikipedia entry.

I hear Fenrir is getting a lot of people, but I would assume that RMTs and such haven't tried to move there yet. They mostly only stick around Asura because it's where they make money just due to the culture there.

Bahamut isn't strictly anti-merc/bot, but there is considerably less elitism about having/needing things, so there isn't as much demand so it's less pervasive.
Odin is populated by mostly Japanese and mercing is very rare. You get the shout for JP grinding, but nothing about mercing otherwise.

FFXI's Bard, especially if you account for the subjob system. BRD was a huge party buff that could cater buffs to each specific party member if needed.
Meanwhile, the subjob system allowed you to round it out how you wanted, either as a pure support, damage, or healer.
