I still find it shocking that anyone can possibly believe this nonsense.

Wh where's my check from George Soros?

This has got to be illegal. Isn't this a breach of contract?

It certainly does raise the question, but here's another question: Does he even care? I suggest that the answer is no. He does not care about little details, such as how the system works, the laws regulating what he can & can't do as president, the legislative process, checks and balances, etc.

If my memory serves me correctly, I recall reading that people in Trump's inner circle were communicating by a Signal during the January 6th insurrection. I find it very hard to believe that Trump himself was not involved in these communications.

You are the company you keep. This is a fine example, along with Kanye West, Nick Fuentes, and of course his boss, #FelonMusk.

Hell yes!

The contacts in my phone are in my phone because I put them in my phone. My phone doesn't "suck in" phone numbers. This is not Facebook, which simply decides who you follow because Zuckerberg wants you to. It is your device, not a platform under someone else's control. #ICallBullshit

And who should we listen to instead (other than yourself of course)?
comment in response to post
#FelonMusk is crying about his stock price falling because people are doing what he espouses (exercising their free speech and acting according to free market principles). Meanwhile, he summarily fires thousands of federal workers & dismantles a program which saves millions of lives. How grotesque!
comment in response to post
Your dismantling of USAID will lead to the suffering and death of millions of people. You are summarily firing thousands of hardworking, dedicated federal workers while you (the richest person on Earth) is crying about your company's stock price going down. You are a sick, sick person. #FelonMusk

It's called voting with your wallet, freedom of speech and the free market - all principles which you espouse. People dislike what you're doing so they are boycotting your businesses. The boycott is working, and people are happy about it. That makes them principled people, not jerks. #FelonMusk

Even Trump isn't this dumb. He just wants attention.

Agreed. I am not an aggressive driver. I accelerate and decelerate gradually. I would venture to say (perhaps naively), is that hypermiling with a hybrid probably has very similar principles. It's about maximizing efficiency with smart use of the accelerator and minimal brake usage.
comment in response to post
I'll keep that in mind, thanks. I test drove it when I though my HV battery was dead & thought I might need another car quickly. The issue turned out to be something else entirely & was repaired. The car still runs well & I'm not in a hurry to buy a new one. But I'd like my next car to be an EV.
comment in response to post
But I also don't want there to be a lot of drag when I coast into a stop.
comment in response to post
By saying pulse and glide, I am referring to throttle pedal modulation. When driving on city streets, I'll accelerate to a slightly faster speed than desired, let off the accelerator, then reapply it slightly to maintain the speed, often with no use of gas.
comment in response to post
If the drag is a low as you say it is at level 1, then perhaps the dealer was incorrect when he said it was at the lowest setting. You mention the Ioniq 5. I drove a 6. Are they much different in terms of regenerative braking?
comment in response to post
Yes, I am. I test drove it on the lowest setting & didn't like it. Turning it off would defeat the purpose. My Prius has regenerative braking & puts much less drag on the car. I'm a hypermiler to the core. I like to pulse and glide, not pulse and brake (which is what the Ioniq 6 felt like).

Keep in mind that agricultural output would have no hope of feeding the world population without the Haber-Bosch process.

At least as far as EVs are concerned, we can all charge late at night when grid demand is very low. Ovens/stoves & dryers don't run for very long and are moderate loads at best. A heat pump serving an entire house might be a big draw (not sure how much). Also, none of these loads are constant.
comment in response to post
If I'm going to spend a lot of money on a new car, I'm going to get something I like. No way in hell will I buy a car that I'm merely lukewarm about. I imagine things will be much different in ~5 years... and the level 2 charger I installed for my Wife's Prime will still work (32 amps=future proof).
comment in response to post
I like the idea of EVs, but am disappointed with the current options. I like sedans (not SUVs or crossovers). I hate Tesla for many reasons, Leaf sucks and the Ioniq 6's regenerative braking is way too aggressive. American cars are crap. I drive a Prius and would buy a Prius-like EV in a second.

Is this good press? Is this a manifestation of the "all publicity is good publicity" way of thinking? 🤔

Not to mention what it does to the life expectancy of the battery...

Not in California.

I have solar and see no need for a battery. I just shift my big loads to off-peak and sell my excess energy back to the power company when rates are higher. A battery will almost assuredly never pay for itself. Unless you installed your solar too late and are stuck on PG&E NEM-3. Then you need one.

I went from gas to induction. Perhaps not a huge gain in terms of efficiency over coils, but I like that the cooktop & the cookware don't get so hot. And with a little one in the house, it's much safer. If she turns on a burner, nothing happens, as we don't store cookware directly on the elements.

Try induction.

Which minimizes resistive losses, one of many reasons I love 240V. I am about to install a 2,000 watt heater in my daughter's bedroom. Naturally, I bought a 240V model. 110V would require a larger gauge wire (more expensive and unwieldy) and a higher amperage draw. It's a no-brainer.

It was pretty easy when I installed mine, and I have leaned a lot since then. I suppose anything other than plugging something into a receptacle is considered complicated.

Its use is so simple for the average consumer that it is often taken for granted. Moreover, most people who talk about moving to clean energy don't understand that our entire way of life will continue to depend on fossil fuels for a very long time. Ignorance abounds.

"I love Tesler", said the POTUS. Felon Musk gave him ~$275,000,000, and in return, he mispronounced the company name. Seems like a genuine to endorsement to me!

It is unbelievable that people can assault police officers and subsequently be pardoned by the politician they were purportedly fighting for. Sounds like 3rd world country stuff. Is that what we have become?
