Hierarchy is not the source of rules, but is actually opposed to them. If you turn the music all the way up does the world outside your headphones still exist? Tiny Mastodon by @liamleroux42.bsky.social

Haven't watched andor season 2 yet but I swear to god if every single political opinion I have isn't fully validated I'm done with watching anything ever again. I would rather starve

I haven't seen any of Andor, and likely never will. But I assume the writing must be excellent, based mostly on the number of people with diametrically opposed political beliefs posting long threads about how the show definitely agrees with them, and all those other people are interpreting it wrong.

'the war on science' is daunting at first because there's like 40 different grievance essays but luckily they collectively only have like 3 or 4 grievances (i don't wanna respect trans people/give indigenous people their stuff back/stop groping the students) so it edits down quite nicely

I often think the drivers here who stop in the middle of the block to "let" me cross where I had no intention of doing so (and with traffic in the other lane still moving) must be trying to atone for almost running someone over in a crosswalk while blowing by a red light earlier in the same commute.

Sinners (2025): I wish there was more music. Vampire stuff was cool and all, but it felt like there was going to be a guitar duel at one point and then there wasn't. I mean, Sinners is objectively a better movie than Crossroads, but Crossroads had a guitar duel between the Karate Kid and Satan so...

I also fenced for years, and practiced kendo, and in both cases training was co-ed and I got handily trounced by more than one woman.

Mark Carney talking about how he created a “department of government transformation” (sounds eerily DOGE-like) and is intent on using AI to make the public service more efficient (screaming of Starmerism) definitely sets off red flags 🚩🚩

My "Certificate of Loss of Nationality" finally came from the US State Department today!

@liamleroux42.bsky.social I imagine you'd like this (when you've got time to watch a long Internet video). Definitely filled in some blanks for me.

Saw a good talk tonight by Tal Mitnik and Einat Gerlitz, who spent time in Israeli military prison for refusing to serve in the IDF. They're doing "We Refused to Participate in Genocide" events across Canada. Important insights into the dynamics of youth resistance to an established fascist regime.

New Mozilla TOS diff. This is what they just removed: * Does Firefox sell your personal data? > Nope. Never have, never will. The purpose of the new TOS appears to be to enable them to do this - such as for their advertising and AI sidelines. github.com/mozilla/bedr...

I'm always saying this, but not as succinctly.

Well, fuck.
