Oh, I don't mind either, I'm just a little tired of seeing every character in a story paired off with their perfect eternal love.
It's the almost frantic need to see not a single character unpaired that I was commenting on.

A life like that in and of itself is incomprehensible to me.
Don't get me wrong, if that's what makes them happy, more power to them, but I'll just be happy if I don't end up in the papers as a cautionary tale.
Life is hard enough already. I don't need to pile on the stress of goals like those.

Romance stories are one thing, and quite frankly enjoyable, pardon my pun, as fuck.
But honestly?
If a writer has a cast of a few dozen or more, is it really necessary to pair off every last cast member in made for each other, true love, happily ever after pairings?

I mostly use it if I want to say, "To hell with this, the opposition has to die *yesterday*."
