Long way to fall, but I have faith we can do it!

My dad was sleeping when the Liberal leadership rally was being televised and Chretien was speaking - when he woke up and entered the room I went "dad, you won't believe it, see - Chretien won!" and he gave me such a look. : P

I find myself worrying more and more that, rather than comparing Trump to Hitler, the more apt comparison may be closer to that of Hindenburg - an awful, ignorant leader who spread the "stabbed in the back" myth for personal gain and saw Hitler appointed to power.

I hope America is as lucky as the delta jet - everyone survives but the right wing explodes

It would be nice if there were something for news websites like there is when you buy cable - like, you get cable and you buy a package that has a bunch of different channels. Could a bunch of news agencies make a deal where you pay a reasonable price to get access to a bunch of news sites?

www.bbc.com/news/article... Clown show!

"Yeah I know dad, it's called neuroplasticity" - my seven year-old son, who pissed himself earlier for no reason

I know most Americans don’t care probably, but this betrayal aches for many, many people

Dear reporters who care about democracy: If you see Musk and Trump together and you want to ask questions, don't say "Mr. Trump!" Say "Mr. Musk!" and treat Trump as an after-thought. Watch what happens.

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order. TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

Popular or not Dems cannot bend on the need for trans people to be treated with basic humanity and respect. If we give up that because the right made trans people unpopular, we give up everything. They’ll dice us group by group like a salami. We die on this hill or we die alone in a ditch

Problem with the "run it like a business" politician is, businesses exist just to make money but the state exists for much more than that. Companies frequently are ruthless and myopic in the focus on money, leading often to very anti-human behaviour - mass layoffs, hostile takeovers... (1/2)

www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... Really nice article - some folks might be interested to read it, helps to broaden the mind.

Idgaf I’m still fighting for guaranteed healthcare. Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.” We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

MY MOST ANTICIPATED FEATURE OF 11.1? BEING ABLE TO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF A RICH ASSHOLE WHO IS IN POWER. THANK YOU WOW DEVS. VERY CATHARTIC.

This - and particularly the article linked here - is pretty right-on, I think. Certainly worth a read.

I would like to see some polls done that ask clear questions to people who didn't vote for Harris if they would have if she'd not done (x) thing, vs people who DID vote for her who would've taken their vote away if she *had* done (x) thing. Everyone is sure of what specifically sunk her. I'm not.

Imagine choosing THIS picture to illustrate what Scythian bows and quivers looked like and not explaining - or even mentioning! - THE GUY PUTTING HIS FINGER IN THE OTHER GUY'S MOUTH???

There's an electric feeling in getting some history books and reading the prologue of each - the hint and taste of the stories and knowledge that lies ahead.
