That international development & cooperation is mistaken as charity by leading political figures should worry all of us. Shutting down USAID will have security consequences. E.g. no screening of people travelling by air from countries with Ebola outbreaks etc.

Unpopular opinion but I absolutely hate fireworks. No idea why people think it is fun to create artificial warzone sound. Why do the Dutch do this all night long for days? Apart from the environmental issues the constant noise of fireworks is unhealthy & distresses animals & humans alike. Just stop!

We have not been taken serious so far. While we appreciate that current reduction in cuts care more for students, they do not change the situation in universities. Research money is still being cut which means NL higher education will become irrelevant in research and innovation.

So yet another grant rejection. It has become increasingly difficult to do research in NL and Europe, especially for those not doing quant AI research. It seems nothing else is important anymore or deserves being funded & with the government cuts I am wondering if I even can continue my research.

I am so tired to have to justify to positivists and quant people why I am working with small groups of people as a participatory action researcher and do not do surveys. If SSH means getting evaluated mostly by psychologist and AI scholars then diversity in research is certainly not happening. #NWO
