I have wondered why underwater basket weaving is used as the platonic ideal for mocking liberal arts education. The indigenous context brings it all together.

No, you are coming into a black space to take folks down. It's just damn inappropriate. I am deeply apposed to AI and this is not the place or time. Get your priorities straight.

Get off your damn high horse and let people celebrate this historic moment. You are not making the world a better place.

Have you ever thought about making a graphic novel of these little babies? Would buy for me. Would buy for my friends. Might be a good way to show how much potential this project has.

I'm so excited! Love the idea of moving my data to a queer specific server. I had a problem though. just tryed to sign up to volunteer and when I clicked on the confirmation link in my email I got a "sight not found" error. Tried both FF and Brave as well as switching my VPN to different countries.

Maybe we won't have to? Northsky (for the gays) & Blacksky (for, well, it should be obvious) are currently & actively creating alternative infrastructure that will potentially allow us to preemptively flee BS (heh). If worse comes to worse they may even be able to de-federate their servers from BS.

Fortunately there's a way around it. From the blog post "You can also choose to hide verification within the app — navigate to Settings > Moderation > Verification Settings to toggle it off."

Just texted a teacher 4 book suggestions: "Path with Heart by Jack Kornfield is a great book for beginners (and anyone at any point on the path). It was a gateway for me early in my practice. My teacher assigned sections of it to teacher trainees. Super accessible, easy to read, compelling."

It's also trendy to have Christian weddings in Japan just around it all out.

To be fair there /can/ be no dogma and there /can/ be no worship but in traditional Buddhist cultures there's quite a bit of both. But I also don't necessarily think that's a bad thing.

Magma is when it is underground, lava is when magma has erupted to the surface.

Is there a reason why you're waiting on the e? if you want a slower transition you can start taking blockers immediately without necessarily starting e. You can do this to get the t out of your system If you're not necessarily ready to start with the big changes that come with taking e.

Excellent rendition! Gosh I love these characters so much. What's going on with their outlines? It almost looks like they are enamel pins.

Sometimes I put cut fruit that I need to eat before it gets all brown and will be forgotten in the produce drawer. But yes usually just butter.

Except it will be 14 episodes later and we still won't know the answers. I spent far too much of my youth watching that show.

This one kind of hit by surprise. The red sun, sniffing bear and morphing shadow took me on a bit of a journey.

They would be best of friends in that battle of wills/frienemies sort of way. Like their personalities are so close they would be constantly trying to outcompete each other. The earth would shake with their disagreements but low! Let none stand in their path if they're united.

It should be noted that almost everyone is guilty of doing this at least on occasion, myself included. Sometimes we come across such great ideas, how could they not be universal!? It's not whether we have the thought "everyone should do this one particular thing!" rather it's how much we believe it.

I think the point is to wear us down. The more places we see the hate the more we're likely to get demoralized. It's specific, intentional bigotry.

This is good stuff. I've been calling it one-true-path-ism and I use it as a litmus test. If someone thinks they know the one true path I start being pretty skeptical of their ideas.

Rust is a programming language that is inherently safer (among other advantages) than older languages like C, C++, Java etc. Rudy is busy single-handedly rebuilding Bluesky's infrastructure in Rust so It's not solely controlled by Bluesky Inc. It's great he'll be getting some help!

That is very interesting. Particularly the social login aspect. If ATproto provided a mainstream, widely adopted alternative to signing in to random web apps with Google or Facebook that would be very exciting.

I was just thinking the other day how I would pay to not have my PDS hosted on bluesky's servers particularly once private accounts/posts/DMs roll out. Have you thought about offering that as a service? Might be a nice way to fund the project.
