Honestly once again this is a case where I wish the HW-990Q firmware was open source, because I could just make a fork of it with the physical buttons disabled, but that's very much not the case.

After a brief look into this, it appears that the best case option is photogrammetry, and that seems like a huge fucking ordeal. So maybe I'll just take some pictures and try to model the enclosure to match those in #Blender or something...

I vaguely remember that iPhones have pretty good 3D scanning solutions available, but I have no idea if they're good for very precise measurements or just room scale stuff? #3dscanning #iphone

Right now my plan is to #3dprint a cap to sit flat on top of the buttons and prevent them from being pushed, while also not making the soundbar a bad place to nap on. But I need to figure out some way to precisely measure the dimensions of the button area.
