Film people have no boundaries. The day after the election was eye opening as hell. It was like people just realized the type of country we lived in. I was running from white women who wanted to hug on me or show me their feminist stickers. I just wanted to get through the day!

Iā€™ve always hated group projects! Cause Iā€™ve read everything forwards and backward. Black folks, Black women in particular, donā€™t have the privilege of not knowing wtf is going on. Itā€™s infuriating.

The longer I stay home, in my own energy with the muerto, the less I want to go back to set. I simply do not have the desire to put on a brave face and listen to these circular conversations.

This is why heā€™s my favorite uncle. All he wants to do is tinker on his motorcycle, raise dogs and plant pretty flowers while smoking his ganja. A very chill King šŸ’—šŸ’—

He was one of the kindest, most down to earth people. He used to teach us all the latest dances when we were kids. Very sweet and humble guy.

Lucumi is way more mainstream! Everybody and they mother got elekes now. I donā€™t know not one celebrity that has openly admitted to practicing Palo or 21 Divisions.

I remember her altar for San Miguel and how she was very hush hush about it. Personally, I think she practices 21 Divisiones which is more secretive/less talked about AND sheā€™s getting work done in Lucumi too. Thereā€™s no hard rules against practicing or initiating into multiple things.

I guess thatā€™s a good sign tho. Standing up for yourself is healthy. Vocalizing how you feel is healthy. Iā€™m not saying pick a fight with nobody but donā€™t let nobody punk you either.

Itā€™s also the reason I donā€™t like having to share him with non Black folks. Like if you enjoy Kdot and you ainā€™t Black - good for you. But donā€™t expect me to dissect his art with you. Iā€™m not here for that.
