that said, a 3 hour long watch is a hard sell for most people, but if i was gonna do it for any film let it be the last one in a decades long franchise. I enjoyed it a lot, personally. here’s to hoping they stick to their word and let this series die a dignified death!

the cool thing is that a lot of the original japanese lyrics did have brief english bits interspersed and they kept a lot of those lines even for the new translyrics, keeping the spirit of the choruses intact even at the expense of potentially better prosidy had they rewritten them entirely.

I’m convinced “British food is bad” is a psyop bc like so much of the best food in europe is just potatoes, meat, and gravy—and we’re gonna dog on the brits despite them having basically made it their entire thing???

thank you for the resources! fortunately i'm going into this as a designer first so I already have a pretty good grasp on visual design and layout work, so a lot of my learning has been in actually recreating it in html/css (and also making it responsive design-wise)

while i can’t guarantee i’ll be able to launch a brand new site immediately, i’ve been teaching myself enough html and css to fairly decent success that at the very least i’ll have a temporary landing page up in its place.

as composers there’s a tendency to associate energy to excitement and to have our loudest sections be our musical climaxes, but what’s really more important is that contrast. it’s through contrast that every part of the music gets its own role to play in the musical structure.

similar vibe and overall structhre, same omnisphere children's choir library, typical fantasy-folksy modal writing, likes to do things in waltz time - she has a very classic high fantasy film score approach that works well here

i first discovered yumemi's music through In the Land of Leadale so it was funny going through the yumia demo and being like "oh most of this is yanagawa i wonder what she did" and then i immediately hear the most leadale fucking track of all time and i'm like "oh there she is"

yeah i'm realizing the same thing after trying out going 'back online' for a bit, holy shit I got so used to just a completely silent experience that i didn't realize that THAT was the default for a lot of discord users hahaha
