If I had a band or a label, I would do a punk cover of "No More Kings" from Schoolhouse Rock. And then I would gather a bunch of people to write a whole album of next-generation Schoolhouse Rock songs, with songs about Social Security and Medicaid and NOAA. I am not kidding in the least.

Just enjoying a live band playing I am weary let me rest on air right now. The Sound Locomotive is live in about 20 minutes. Link to Radio Dacorum Live in bio via Linktree.

R.I.P. Rick Buckler. The Jam drummer has died at age 69. "I'm shocked and saddened by Rick's passing," Paul Weller shares. "I'm thinking back to us all rehearsing in my bedroom in Stanley Road, Woking. To all the pubs and clubs we played at as kids, to eventually making a record. What a journey!"

Humbled that the great @ronsexsmith.bsky.social has followed me back! 'Whereabouts' will always be one of my favourite records.

OK, clearly the Black Sabbath farewell show this summer is going to be one of those legendary gigs. The BBC should step in and televise the whole thing. That's worth my license fee for this year!

Dostoevsky never wrote that 'tolerance will reach such a level that intelligent people will be banned from thinking, so as not to offend the imbeciles". Its just a fabrication people like to share on social media, but I bet it would make a great Pussy Riot song.

Is it just me, or does it sound like Neil Young is on the fence about what's happening in the US right now?! "It could be bad, it could be good"? His latest release: youtu.be/SIKxvzY8sJs?...

Sometimes I wonder what 1976 Johnny Rotten would think of 2024 John Lydon... www.independent.co.uk/arts-enterta...

So I found @nickcope.bsky.social on Bluesky, which for me is almost instant credibility that people still have a soul. I interviewed him for the Dakota Student way back in 1998 about the Candyskin's under appreciated Death of a Minor TV Celebrity. I wonder if he'd ever do a Sound Locomotive episode?

I am on the air at the top of the hour. Use Radio Dacorum Live via Linktree in bio to listen. Tune in straight away and identify the Shirley Bassey song for a chance to win tickets to see Fluff at The Old Town Hall on 21 February. Here's the rest of tonight's play list...
