I grew up on those songs too. My childhood education glorified manifest destiny & glossed over genocide of native Americans and the 3/5 compromise. Does Rabbit Ears publishing still exist? Seems like exactly their wheelhouse. They made a series of illustrated historical books & videos and got amazing narrators and musicians. I worked on one in the 90s, narrated by Laura Dern and music by Don Henley.
